Seems to work as advertised. The diameter is a little larger than my previous desiccant can so it's a little more awkward placing it in my safe, however, I look at that as a User problem more than a product problem. I can recommend this product to others.
Appears well constructed and easy to use.
Simple easy to use , pop in oven and regenerate the desiccant
Very nice
Super handy to throw in the safe. I've only recharged them once, but so far so good. I've seen reviews of people complaining that the plastic lens on top melts in the oven. I have one I've recharged at least 6 times and have never had an issue. 300 Degrees for 4 hours max, middle shelf. Most of the time I catch it before it needs fully recharged and 2 hours is enough.
Used in conjunction with a Hornady humidity meter, I have a canister in each safe to control humidity. What makes these units great tools is the ability to renew their use with short stints in a conventional oven. The frequency of that canister maintenance depends on the level of humidity you are attempting to mitigate. Very easy to use and the canister crystals change color to help you manage the maintenance intervals.
I have two in my 64 gun safe and each has approx 1.6 lbs of media. The color change is moderate but you can see it turn green when ready to recharge. I also shake them up every now and then as the beads on the exterior will saturate before the interior beads. Overall was a very good value and a necessity for gun safes in MO.
I use two of these canisters in a large safe that is kept in my non air conditioned garage. I change them regularly (every three weeks in summer) and they do a great job of managing humidity. These are on a par with significantly more expensive canisters that I have used in the past. Assuming proper care (beware of high heat when drying) and regular recharging these last for years.
I bought two of these for my gun safe, one in use with one to replace the first while the first one gets dried out in the oven. They seem to work well according to my humidity gauge that is in the safe. I guess I would of preferred an electric dehumidifier, but my safe doesn't have any electric option to run one, plus we live in an area where the power seems to take a vacation during winter storms, so this is probably a good choice..
Good value on sale. Probably the best price you can find for 750 gram size. Only flaw is the small clear cover for the desiccant moisture indicator in the center of the top pops off when bumped hard or dropped. Just knocked mine over in my safe and the cover popped off spreading desiccant beads all around. Other slightly more expensive brand has a screw on top that can't come loose.
