Better
Even though not the ones sold in the year of 2002 or not made in Japan these Mikasa Italian Countryside dinnerware are better than some that are produced too think with the pattern flattened. I was glad this set was not the lower quality ones that are sold now.

Italian countryside dinnerware
I had bought this pattern 20 years ago. Moving to be close to my Son and his wife, several of pieces got broken. When I ordered this time, I bought more than I needed. They are elegant, but never place them on a rack in the microwave, You can reheat food on them, but on the glass plate.
