I want to clarify; as of June 2026, this page is no longer for the Taweret, but the NOVA. These reviews, prior to mine (88 at this time) *are all for a different product.*
Now, the Nova is the follow-up to the Taweret, but this isn't a small upgrade, it's a total departure. Whereas the Taweret used a Cam/Cable to pull the lever srm up, the Nova appears to connect via a Link rod (not sure on the name.) This follows the design of the LE08 at a cheaper price as opposed to the Taweret, and as such reviews before this should be taken with a grain of salt as an example of the Company's pedigree rather than the machine's capability.
That being said, the Taweret is what I grabbed just before the Nova came out. I give it 5 stars as, for the proce, I don'tthink I could've gotten any better. It's smooth, it has great resistance throughout the movement, it's comfortable, it works well both for Lying Curls and for Leg Ext.
The gripes I have are minimal:
- an inability to adjust the angle of the seat pad to lay back further in the Extension. I attempted to do extensions from the Lying Curl position, but the change in the back psd *and* seat angles made this less than comfortable. Possibly it'd work fine if I decreased the weight in this position, but I didn't experiment much here as it isn't bad in the regular positioning.
- the back pad is liable to wobble, regardless of how snug all of the bolts are.
- with 270%23 , the extension rod does flex somewhat. However, this isn't too noticeable and - again, for the price - I've found it to work just fine if not better than its' competitors at this price.
The value at $300 could not be beat, and I'm happy with my.ourchase, enough that I will avoid the Matrix selectorized leg extension at the gym and use mine instead.
