Watch That Torque
At 7 amps you need to watch your torque. I just snapped a 9/16" bit while drilling into railroad ties. The bit was 18" long and I had been using that bit with the earlier model of this drill with no breakage until the drill burned out. The difference in amperage was enough to put me over the limit with the bit. 4.5A compared to 7.0A was the deal breaker and I got about halfway in when she snapped. Where previously my bit had too much surface area and would bind the old drill up, it was now able to go completely through 2.5 railroad ties (18" ) with no problem. So check your drill bits to make sure they're beefy enough to handle the torque this drill will throw down.
