Today I am reviewing the Mind Reader Hang 11 Hook Metal Coat Rack. I wanted to try this particular coat rack because it is metal and it has 11 hooks, that are spread out over the frame. It is rather easy and simple to assemble. It took us about 45 minutes all total. There are 4 hooks up top, 4 just below the top and lastly, 3 lower ones. The lower hooks are handy because small children can reach these easily and hang up their own coat, hat, and gloves. I like the way it looks because it is a simple design yet modern looking. The way it is built makes it very sturdy and well balanced. The previous coat rack I owned was wooden and the hooks were all around the top of the rack. This made it top heavy and it fell over several times. The Mind Reader coat rack has a tripod base. I think 3 legs look better than the usual 4 legs any day of the week. Each one of it's hooks have a plastic topper that fits on the metal end. This way I am less likely to snag or tear say like my sweater coat. The base legs also have plastic toppers to prevent any scratches to my floor. The entire coat rack is metal, painted black but it's is so lightweight it's easy to move from one room to another. It's slender design will fit well in a corner or in a foyer. I plan to use mine for coats, scarves, hats, and my purse. I also put my shoes under the base area and that works out good also. I am sure my family will have their favorite spot on it for their coats, backpack, and umbrellas. I would feel very comfortable recommending this coat rack to my relatives and friends.
Very sleek looking. Easy to assemble. Holds quite a few lighter jackets wonderfully. Only downside is that if you tighten the screws too much you will scrunch up the pole
I love it it fix nice in my corners
I give the mind reader 11 hook metal coat rack a five star rating. It is very well made and very easy to assemble in less than 19 minutes.the metal post is very heavy duty and will not tip over with 5 or more coats on it
A real nice coat rack with plenty of hooks for hanging coats and hats. I didn't need it, but now that I have it, I would really miss it. There's a warning in the instructions not to hang everything on one side because it will be unbalanced. Not unusual since it has 3 small legs instead of heavy base. I had no problem with that, but had to remind visitors several times (usually involving berating), even though most had to catch it as it started to tip over. The center shaft comes in two parts. The 3 legs attach to the lower section with 2 screws each. The 4 double hooks and 3 single hooks attach to the top section with 2 screws each. The 7 hooks on the top section attached real easy. The 3 legs on the bottom section were a different story. Not sure if it was a one-off or a quality control problem. The holes in the center shaft were too small, so took some strength to get the screws in. The second screw on each leg also had a problem, that the screw holes in the shaft didn't quite match up with the holes in the legs. When starting the screws, you could see that they tipped down a little bit to get them lined up with the second hole. Made it harder to tighten the screws, but at least I know that it won't come apart.
The assembly directions could have been better. It used photographs rather than diagrams. That would have been fine, but the photos are a little dark and fuzzy. Once I got it together, the only thing wrong was that it tilted a little. Still, it is functional, and I didn't feel like returning it.
It isn't worth buying. It's so flimsy that when putting it together the metal flattens out and then the little tabs won't fit on it.
It came obviously used with a half torn off sticker and rust in several places
Missing peices. Contacted customer service (seller) and they did not respond.
I fell apart.
