Looks great- haven't used yet
I replaced a 6' Power Pole with the 10' Talon on my 19' bay boat. I was impressed that the height of the Talon was actually lower than that of the replaced unit. Deployment is easy, quick, and virtually silent. That in addition to the fact that I will never coat my decks again with hydraulic oil from a ruptured plastic line leaves me very pleased with my purchase. I fish Tampa Bay, with the salinity and ever present sand and silt I am worried about corrosion on the aluminum telescoping members. I wish there was an easy way to wash down the mechanism with a wash-down port or something similar. I keep the boat in a lift and accessing with a hose is a little tedious.
Purchased two 12 foot Talons for my Ranger Fisherman VS 619 with port/starboard brackets and tilt brackets. Work nicely for fishing docks on windy days or lily pads. When you have a fish on the line, drop the Talons and stop worrying about drifting into a rocky shore or boat dock. Handy during launching and trailering your boat. Worth the money!
Bought this for our pontoon, wife struggles to drive it and it's hard to drive and toss anchors alone, has worked great at the sandbar and in other shallow water locations. Holds every time, was super easy to install. Overall a great addition! Might buy another to keep us from spinning around when the wind changes.
I usually don't spend time to write a review, even if it's negative but in this case, this product ROCKS 👍 Single handedly makes my pontoon a more enjoyable boat. We usually swim off shore and with the 10' we can position the boat for deeper water swimming, as well as some light bass fishing. I have the Ulterra on the bow for ‘gps parking' the boat further out, and when closer to shore we use the talon. I've had the talon for 2 years now, zero problems. I'm actually considering to sell my 10' talon and move to the 15' talon as I type this review. Absolutely a game changer for a pontoon boat! No regrets! Will buy again. Jeremy - Dallas Texas
Not having to deal with an anchor when pulling up to the shoal??? Priceless!! 2 taps on the remote and she glides in the water an you're all set. “Money well spent”, as my grandpa use to say…
I primarily fish muskies and until last summer I never thought a Talon would be of much use for me. Boy was I wrong! I added a 12ft Talon to my new boat last year and loved it. We fish a lot of large wind blown lakes in MN and the Talon worked flawlessly to hold me in position while we fan casted an area or even while we took photos and released fish. The Talon also came in handy at the boat landings where it kept my boat from rubbing on the dock. I sold my boat and have a 2019 on order, and a Talon is DEFINITELY going to be on it!
