I could not be happier with my Minn Kota Riptide Powerdrive 24v trolling motor! I installed myself in less than an hour using the Minn Kota quick release bracket (RTA-17), Minn Kota trolling motor plug and receptacle (MKR-28), and the heading sensor. The shaft length is more than enough for my Tracker Grizzly 1860. Spot lock is amazing. I don't know how I survived without it. If you haven't purchased a spot lock trolling motor, or if you're on the fence about it trust me! Just do it!! I ordered my Riptide Powerdrive with the full featured advanced GPS remote. Which has tons of great features. But it's large and heavy to hang on a neck lanyard or the belt clip. So I also ordered the micro remote, the micro remote is perfect to use while fishing. I find myself using both. Especially if I want to follow a contour I will use the full featured remote which I keep in the Minn Kota cradle at the console. I can't say enough good things about this trolling motor. At full speed it almost pulls a wake behind the boat. With the 100ah LiTime TM smart lipo batteries I can troll all day and still have 85% battery left when I get home. I've never ran into a situation where I've even come close to running the battery down on a multi day trip. I've fished 4 full days on a single charge. That speaks to this awesome trolling motor's efficiency.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves his new trolling motor. It was easy to install and he loves how easy it is to use. Thanks!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice overall unit for my poling skiff. Nice size and good value
Installed on a 17ft Key West boat. It does a great job and is easy to use. Happy with the purchase.
I have had my Tolling Motor for 6 months and had no problems. This is the first Tolling Motor with spot lock and I love it.
Bought mine two years ago and I love it. Before I had a Riptide with a tiller and I spent more time making course corrections than fishing. The autopilot feature is one of my favorite. Set it, and except for minor course corrections for set and drift, I am fishing. The other feature I really like is the Spot Lock. It took me a couple of times to figure out that I needed to be on station before setting it, not drifting past, because the unit will go wide open to regain the coordinates that I depressed the button at and blow all the fish out for 50 yards either direction. The quality of construction and materials used is good. I have had no issues with my unit's performance. The reason for 4 stars is that the upper end of speed gets noisy. I only use the upper end when moving to another location so It really is not an issue for me. I was it down after every use and store it in my garage out of the weather and out of sight of potential thieves. This is a good unit and definitely recommend it.
Control board already out after about 30 hours of use.
