Minn Kota Freshwater Trolling Motor Accessories, Black, MKA-21

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Minn Kota Quick release bracket is a very well designed solution for mounting and Minn kota bow motor. The instructions, including the template on the inside of the box, were very descriptive and allowed for an easy install. I did discover However, that I needed to put a Backing plate under the mount to make it a bit more secure with the weight of the motor. Otherwise, it's an exceptional solution. If there are any cons to the device, it might be the price, but considering the amount of machining and tolerances that are necessary to make it as functional as it is, the value is definitely there. I would purchase it again if needed.

Exactly what I wanted and works great for quick remove and locked security.

I'm not sure what I would have done without this mount. It fit perfectly for the Minn Kota Powerdrive V2. The mount especially helped as my boat has a very narrow top at the front, and it's curved. It would have been nicer if the kit came with some differently sized spacers to help get the mount leveled on a curved top.

Allows me to remove the trolling motor from the front of the pontoon boat when we're not fishing (fish about 50% and swim about 50%). Have used it 4 times since I installed it. No problems.

It was accidental that I discovered Wal Mart carried this great Minn Kota accessory, and for quite a bit less than anywhere else I could find it. Plus, ship to store is free. Great deal!

Mount, installation great. Instructions were clear and worked well. Do use a 1/4 in. bit rather than a 17/64 if drilling through fiberglass. Will give you a better supported and tighter fit. The screws and nuts are garbage. Phillips heads on pan head screws round out with no effort. Nuts are Nylock which is great, but they bind just enough on the screws to cause the heads of the screws to round out, even with the right size, new bit employed. Mind you, I am a Master Tech so I'm not unfamiliar with fastening hardware/torque. Got better quality fasteners and all is great. Added some reinforcement to inside of hull as well, just as precaution. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Would be 5 stars if hardware was better.

I like the bracket except that the locking pin handle is plastic and easily broken. Minn Kota sent me a replacement right away, but there is no need to lock your motor on your boat. A large screwdriver and it can be easily displaced, and the lock overcame.

only had about a month already broken at the erea where the lock is suposed to help keep it secure and from getting stolen.the trolling moter is $1500 cant afford to loose
