My 12ft Talons works great. My favorite depth for fishing is 10ft so these work for my purpose. I have only had the chance to use them twice because of boat issues but plan using them more soon.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third Talon I've owned and by far the best. The blue tooth connectivity is awesome. Being able to deploy and retract anywhere even if I don't have the fob on me is a great improvement. I also use it for loading and docking the boat when fishing by myself. Very slick. Another great product from Minn Kota.
I run a waterfowl guide service, since I have added these I would not do a trip without them. Complete game changer
Your price was better than all the rest on this item.
So far so good. Install was pretty easy. This product should be sold with the tilting bracket, and support arm. I did have to make my own adapter plate for direct transom fitment for the the tilt bracket so it was above the transom 1.5 inchs, otherwise will not tilt all the way forward. Tilt bracket is for low clearance passage, like garage door or bridge way. Not intended for road travel, but I think it would travel just fine in tilt position, with a good tie down to support arm. Tilt bracket a must if you have low clearance storage access. I have the 15ft talon it is on a 1890 lund pro v is 7ft 7inchs to top of talon in upright position. Check out pics.
I wasn't sure at first if I wanted one or not. I was thinking that this just might be an expensive gimmick and do nothing more than a normal anchor, so after thinking about it I added the 12' talon to my new boat before picking it up and it was the best decision I made. I still don't have my trolling motor because my dealer cant find the one I want but without it the Talon does what is advertised. I'm glad I got it makes fishing a whole lot easier.
I love my 12ft Talon. Makes fishing in the wind so easy in my 18 LTS Mako. I've taken the light off by closing garage door too quickly and have gone through remote batteries faster than expected but liked the ease of installation. Would give it 5 stars but after 4 years and 11 months of limited freshwater use, the spike would not retract. Even went to google and tried manually. Luck I have tilt so I could get up the ramp and home but not into garage. Something deep inside broke, hopefully warranty with 3 weeks left will help me out.
It would be a five star but packaging insufficient for such a high priced item, strengthened cardboard with more padding should be sufficient, brackets are 300.00 each Making it a 2800.00 purchase for each side. Way better than the power poles
For the last 2 years has worked maybe 5 times circuit board then main drive motor now circuit board again. Every time in for repairs part on back order. Very disappointing 0 star this time the part on back order until mid September
I've bought three 15 footers and have never had one last a month. I've got more miles on a truck taking them to the repair shop than ever would on the water. I finally removed them and went with a different product. I've always been an avid supporter of Johnson Outdoor products but this was an absolute nightmare.
