I'm not normally a fan of "ready to heat" rice packets because they taste "fake" or chemically to me, and the texture is normally not rice-like... but this Mahatma Yellow Rice is really good. It's a perfect portion for 2 people and a great side to, basically, any meal. Flavorful but wouldn't overpower a main dish. Goes great with American or International dishes, especially chicken.
I haven't liked any of the microwavable rice in pouches that I've tried. They have consistently tasted like MREs. 🤮 Mahatma Yellow Rice has changed my mind and I just keep getting it because it's so easy. No prep, travels easy, and one minute in the microwave.
I pair this with Tyson diced roasted chicken and Passage of India Butter Chicken sauce and have a meal in minutes! The rice is always perfect and very tasty.
I really like the flavor of this rice and it's convenient to fix. I par it with stir-fry dishes a lot this makes for healthier options that take less time to prepare.
Tasted fine first time around but not so good as a leftover reheat. I usually buy a different brand that tastes and smells better and is great sauteed as a fried rice after a day or two in fridge. This one does not. It kind of lumps up and tastes boiled.
We purchased this online for pickup. The issue was the person selecting the product was not aware of the signs of a spoiled product. When I took the item out of the bag I noticed the bag was swollen and puffy. I opened it and could smell the item was bad and discarded it.
Would only recommend for quick meals and lots of other spices. I am not yet sold on microwave rice. Have bought this a few times, but each time I say I'm not buying it again. The rice is fluffy and presents well on the plate, but it has a taste that isn't at all like yellow rice. Usually I mix the yellow rice in with black beans and taco sauce, something like that. I would say to try it, but I found the taste off-putting. Convenience of the micro wave isn't always the best use for better tasting food.
The Price Was Value-Friendly. It Haven't Seen This Before. VIGGO Brand Offers This In A Package For 1-2 Servings Depending On How Much Is Used. I Bought The Double Pack For The Better Value. The Texture Is Hard 1st Coming Out of The Package. Maybe Since It's Precooked And Only Needs Warming Up. I Like To Use This As An Advantage For Creating Meals Not Needing A Long Time To Cook. 1-Pan Meals. The Finished Product Still Remained Firm Which Is Unusual. I Expected A Softer Chew Especially Mixed Into Liquids. It Did Clump And Crumble @RoomTemp From The Package. The Fragrance Smells Like Yellow Rice I've Had Before. I Made Around 3 Dinner Meals Using Foil And A Pie Tin For Me As 1 Person. I Would Like The Package To Have A Closure For Preserving Later. I Used A Plastic Bag To Store In The Freezer. It's Fair. I Will Buy VIGGO Version And Cook Rice The Traditional Way Instead.
I had to check this one out as a quick convenience item. After preparing this bag, I quickly regretted it. The thought of a soft product, in a plastic bag, on a dry shelf just turned my stomach. I Read the content of this bag and could only imagine the preservatives contained inside this bag. I won't say much else because it was over after that.
i'm gonna be very honest this when I opened it was full of black and green mold. This is not the first item I bought from this location. Bacon is molded, anything that's in the refrigerator section is molded. I've stopped shopping here. It is very, very disgusting in this location
