I ordered this with a little hesitation due to price. It arrived yesterday and was better than my expectations. It is heavily constructed and the tools are all one welded piece (no unscrewing when you use them to pry logs, shovel ashes, broom, etc). Most fireplace tools that I have had in the past were at least 2 screwed together pieces and came apart constantly when used (bummer). Only issue with this piece is the screw used to hold the frame together (there are 4 of them). They were a little short and not well made. I replaced them with new longer versions of better quality and fixed the problem (this costs less than a dollar so no big deal, trip to get them was the only hassle). The 2 screws holding the handle are fine. Other other thing of note (which I knew when I ordered it) is that this will not be your primary wood storage piece in the house. It holds a little wood but is better used to hold fire staters and other things you need to start a fire.
I want it to use as a photo prop
Received the log rack with one tool broken. A weld holding the log long tongs together was rusted and broken. Had a neighbor weld the tool back together so that it could be used. A little difficult to get the tools to hang on the rack due to how the rack is formed. The "hooks" at the top of the rack were bent too close to the rest of the rack so that the tools would not slide onto the hooks. Had to bend the hooks out slightly in order for the tools to hang on the rack. Otherwise, the rack looks good where I intend to use it, and seems to be built solidly.
Quality design and construction but machining was a miss. The screws to connect the base were not long enough to work at all and the final sanding step seemed to be missed around the connection points making it difficult to make a good connection during assembly. After buying my own proper size screws and doing some smoothing of the tough edges the end result is good. The footprint is small but on top it is 17"" deep not 14"".
