Minwax Wipe-On Poly Oil-Based Polyurethane Finish, Warm Gloss, Clear, 1 Quart

I've been using this product for years and it never disappoints. There is no streaking involved whatsoever and you can stop adding coats when you reach the desired result. Although I bought the gloss this time, I've also used the semi-gloss and was equally happy. I would highly recommend this Minwax product to anyone who restores furniture or simply wants to add a little life to any wood surface. It requires no skill--you simply wipe it on and let it dry in record time. Your beautiful result will make you feel like an artist. Cleaning up is a breeze--mineral spirits will do the trick and again, it is effortless. If you've had trouble with streaking using a thicker polyurethane that requires a brush, this product is your answer.

I had tried brush-on poly several times before but this was the first time trying wipe-on poly. I used an old cotton lint-free t-shirt rag to coat an old desk which was previously cleaned but not sanded. Because it is thinner, the coverage after one coat was very light. I sanded gently with 400 sand block before applying two additional coats sanding in between. The desk now has a warm glow and looks new. The surface feels smooth to touch. I will allow a week for the finish to cure. The finish looks more even and professional than brush-on poly. It was also easier to apply with a rag and wipe all over. Would definitely use again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I take woodshop classes at my high school, and I am currently in my senior year and in the highest class for wood. I would not think of any other brand than Minwax for stains or sealants. I used the wipe-on poly for a CNC cut project, and I did not have time to do the regular application process of the brush-on poly that we usually use. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy the application process was, and how it was very easy to get a good coat by buffing it into the wood. I also appreciate that it helped deepen and enrich the colors, similar to how mineral oil would, which is probably attributed to the fact that you can really buff the product into the wood. I was very satisfied with the product, and I would definitely use this again on any smaller projects that I want to have the buffed on look, and that I both need done fast and with ease. I use Minwax products for all of my personal projects too, and i would highley recommend these to my friends.

Wrong item sent and sent request to return and no response from supplier as of yet! very disappointed

Product was not as stated. I initiated a return, which Walmart said I would get a reply within 48 hours. It has been 192 hours and have had no reply. I tried to return it in store and was told I would have to go thru the supplier which is, Supply the Home. The product I received can be bought at Menards for $15 less. The product I received was not what was stated on the website. Very disappointed with Walmart and Supply the Home.
