BEWARE--NOT STURDY ENOUGH FOR DAILY WEAR!

LontimeMioUser April 15, 2016

Pretty accurate heartrate monitor and fitness tracker. I had one for about a year before the clips that hold the strap to the band were broken. I contacted Mio, and they sent a repair kit free of charge. Those clips lasted another few months before they were broken as well. I had to resort to using a hair elastic to keep the band flat. Before the one-year mark, I noticed condensation under the display making it no longer water-tight. Over the last few years, I have been given many fitness trackers from many different manufacturers to evaluate AND ONLY FITBIT AND JAWBONE STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT and replaced their fitness trackers (at no cost) damaged during the normal wear-and-tear of daily use! I evaluate these fitness trackers for everything from sedentary lifestyle to professional athlete. I will wear several at one time and note the output for each. Mio is a decent fitness tracker, but it can't withstand the typical daily use of taking it off and putting it on every day without breaking the clips that hold the band down. And I can't wear it all day/every day because if anything catches the rubber face around the display, it will pull the rubber away from the bottom of the band where the heartrate tracker is. That means condensation under the display whenever you get a little warm. These fitness trackers are very expensive. Over the past year, with software updates, the output from the Mio, Jawbone, and Fitbit are pretty even. Unless you can commit to being gentle with the Mio, I would opt for a company who will warrant their product for daily wear at no cost to you.
