There's really not enough product in the bag to do a lot with but if you have small projects and or want to put some around a plant already in the ground its got your back lol -- I do the layering around my ground plants cos my soil is Awful %26 I'd say 40 percent sand grain, 40 percent clay %26 20 percent legit dirt and it's no fun.
I absolutely love the Miracle-Gro Indoor Potting Mix! It's perfect for all of my houseplants — from pothos and peace lilies to succulents. The soil has the ideal balance of moisture retention and drainage, so my plants stay healthy and vibrant without any soggy roots. I noticed new growth within just a few weeks of repotting, and the mix smells fresh and clean — not earthy or heavy like some other brands. I also appreciate that it's specially blended for indoor plants, meaning fewer gnats and messes. If you want thriving, happy houseplants, this mix is definitely worth it. A little goes a long way, and the 6-quart bag is perfect for small to medium indoor gardens. Highly recommend! 🌿🌸
I gave a high rating because the entire process was smooth, timely, and convenient. My order was accurate, the staff was friendly, and the pickup was quick. In particular, the associate who helped me—Alexander—was very courteous and made sure everything was loaded properly into my car. I really appreciated the great customer service and attention to detail. It made the experience pleasant from start to finish.
OMGoodness Miracle grow has always been the best soil and my spider plant was almost dead and I just repotted it in a mainstay self watering planter with miracle grow soil yesterday and it's perky and healthy already I honestly can't believe the difference!
I am a plant lover %26 also handicapped %26 grow them indoors. i am unable grow in an outdoors garden. i have always used Miracle Gro potting soil %26 also their liquid plant food. i have 8 indoor plants %26 they are all doing well. among my plants i have a bonsai azalea plant. it has taken a few years to gain my learning experience. i will be 89 yrs old in september %26 i think the calm i gain from growing plants has contributed to my well being. Thank you Miracle Gro for your plant healthy products.
I had half a dozen houseplants that somehow got pesky fungus gnats. I tried in vain to get rid of them - I tried several suggestions from the internet %26 also bought the yellow sticky traps that you place in the pot next to the plants. The sticky traps worked best, but I still couldn’t get completely rid of the disgusting pests. In my research I saw this product from Miracle Gro %26 decided it was worth a shot, even though I was very skeptical. By the time I repotted my plants, they were looking kinda sickly. (Because fungus gnats live in the soil %26 attack the plants’ roots.) I got as much of the old potting mix off of the roots %26 washed out the inside of the pots that I was planning to reuse. Once I got my plants repotted using this houseplant potting mix, I noticed results literally overnight! Seriously, the next morning my plants were already looking so much better! It’s been about a month now %26 so far, so good. I did still put new sticky traps in the pots to catch any stragglers still trying to hang around, but (knock on wood) I don’t think I’ll need them much longer. I may just keep one trap in one of the pots as a safety precaution going forward. I was really skeptical that this stuff could make that much difference, but I’m a firm believer now! So glad that I didn’t have to give up %26 throw out all my gorgeous houseplants! My attached pic shows my happy Silver Dragon plant with its nearly empty sticky trap. :)
I have been purchasing this particular potting soil for my indoor and outdoor patio plants. So far, I have not had any problems with bugs of any kind in it or around the soil. The soil looks good coming out of the bag and my plants are doing extremely well. I would definitely recommend this soil and I will continue to purchase this soil for my plants.
This is the only potting soil I will use as it never disappoints and is very cost effective.. Easy to use when I need to add soil to older plants..I keep a plastic cup in the bag so it's easy to scoop up what I need...I have one plant that's at least 20 years old and still thriving due to the nutrients in the soil...Highly recommend...you won't be disappointed
Because zero stars is not an option, this dirt gets one star because it infested our house with flies, or fungus gnats as google called them. It happened one day out of the blue. Flies were all over the windows and doors! Where are these buggers coming from? There were no apparent entry areas from the outdoors, so they had to be coming from inside the house. The trash, maybe? But they didn’t act like normal houseflies, pestering us or the trash. They were only attracted to the light. What else could attract or produce flies? We thought about the dirt in the houseplants, but it had been a couple weeks since we had given them some new dirt. If the dirt brought the flies, wouldn’t we have seen it before now? Yet, flies were showing up faster than we could swat them, and google confirmed our problem. Packaged plant dirt does breed the gnats after a couple of weeks! So we had to get some houseplant spray and sure enough, after a couple days of swatting and spraying down the dirt to stop the breeding, we have not had a problem since. But this dirt is what caused the problem, so we will not be buying it in the future.
I obviously did not do my research. After having to battle the worst fungus gnat infestation ever, I now see information everywhere on how notorious this soil is for that. I have no one to be mad at but myself. Passing that along for what it’s worth.
