Miracle-Gro Orchid Potting Mix Coarse Blend Soil, 8 qt

Used this to transplant romiad pups. They look good in their new ceramic pots. They seem happy and healthy in this new medium! So far so good!

My large Staghorn Fern (Platycerium Veitchii) was outgrowing its basket, so I needed a solution for its cuttings. I used a 14-inch metal hanging basket with a coco fiber liner turned out to be perfect! I filled it with this orchid potting mix coarse blend mix and then easily secured the cuttings with fishing line and twine until their roots take hold. It's a fantastic setup for propagating or adjusting an overgrown fern. I plan to use more of this potting mix when I tackle replanting my orchids!

The wood chips were big, which was fine. But if you want it smaller, it's easily breakable by hand I re-potted three orchid plants and used the bark.. Tapping the pot will help the wood chips settle. Again, if the pieces are too big, you can easily snap them in half.

Provides extra drainage and aeration for houseplants to prevent root rot. This orchid bark partially aids in building a better soil structure allowing a stronger root system.

The potting mix is perfect for repotting orchids as they are different from other flowers. They can't use regular potting soil.

These are the best for orchids and also can be used to make ariod soil mix or chynky soil mix for houseplants or plants that need fast drainage.

Coarse is an understatement. I could have built a log cabin for the squirrel family that lives in my yard with what was in that bag! Many pieces larger than my orchids pot.
