The biggest reason I like this product is because of the size the size is perfect for an elderly person to carry from one place to another. The most important reason is the quality of the soil. It contains necessary nutrients for helping the new cuttings to develop a good root system. And of course, I also like the price. !
I've been using this product for decades and never suffered any losses. I've used other brands in t he past that killed my plants, contained undisclosed pesticides, (a Walmart brand). There are a couple of other brands that are just as good but cost more.
It saves me the trip to store to lift the heavy bag into the shopping cart and then into the car and then from car to garage. I get it delivered to the front of house near the garage. As I am recovering from surgery I am grateful for the service Walmart provided!
Miracle-Gro Potting Mix never disappoints. The texture is light and fluffy, allowing roots to breathe while holding just the right amount of moisture. I've used it for both indoor and outdoor plants, and everything—from flowers to herbs—grows beautifully. The built-in nutrients really do last for months, which means less frequent feeding and consistently healthy plants. It also smells clean and fresh, unlike some other mixes. This is my go-to soil for repotting and new plant starts, and it always delivers great results.
Used outdoors this summer in potted plants and they responded with many blooms and excellent foliage. However, when I went to use the remaining mix, stored in the garage in its original bag it was moldy - so not safe to use indoors for repotting plants.
This industry is a scam. I bought 4 bags 2 cubic feet each, stacked them and measure 14.5" x 18" x 34" or 8874 cubic inch and that is 5.1 cubic feet, not 8 cubic feed like 4 times 2 cubic feet = 8 Cu Ft. And when I picked them up they are like a bit over half the bags I bought last year and sat in my garage for a year. The old ones were the same fake volume. It is shameful for Miracle Grow but also for retailers not demanding honesty.
The potting soil is usually great, but this bag came with a million gnats. After I planted my 4 indoor plants I've been battling daily with Insect and Mite Control and Super Sticky insect traps. Never had this happen before with anything from Miracle-Gro. Perhaps just a bad batch.
The product is great, Walmart delivery and customer support is the worst ever. I am over 70 years old and the driver left it (3 bags high) in front of my door. I tripped over it and sprained my ankle. I tried to contact the Super Walmart in Ocala and no one answers the phone. I tried calling Walmart customer service at headquarters, left a message and never received a return call. I tried contacting their executive office via email and never received a return email. Bottom line, the product is great but I will never again order from Walmart. Lowes customer support is awesome. They actually have people who answer the phone.
soil was completely soaked with water and was like mud, also smells strongly like sewer stench. appears to be a different formula than before, this soil is ruined and unusuable and no good for indoor use as the product is intended for. it was delivered to my house by someone from walmart delivery and walmart wants me to bring to store or somehow send 2 open bags back using fedex in order to get a refund. i cant lift and transport these to store they are soaked and weigh over 50 pounds each. not happy with walmart or miracle grow potting soil at this point.
This soil has totally changed in the last few years. It gets severely dried out quickly. It's a cheap replacement for what used to be in these bags. If I could find another brand readily available I'd switch.
