Mitchell MU40C Concert Ukulele, Natural

Came in a really big box but it was nicely protected in the packaging. Great quality and sound. Perfect choice a for beginner. The only bad thing I would say is that the edges of the body are a bit rough, so I would recommend using sandpaper to fix that.

Sizing up to the larger concert size box made a huge difference in sound projection and tone. I recommend the (c) concert version. This slightly larger uke also gives you a wider fretboard. Makes fingering much easier! My first guitar 57 years ago was a baritone uke. I was five years old. Teach your children. They will have this talent all their life.

I have been playing ukulele for over 5 years and guitar for more then I can remember. On sale this is a great ukulele! i got it for my daughter and as a beater. I tuned it a few times and it seems to staying in tune just fine. not the best strings but no need to change them right away, i am sure it will sound even better with new ones. Good tone from what I can tell. best price for a concert size of this quality i have seen. my others are all much more expinsive I wouldn't say this ones better then any of them but still worth the sales price for sure.

Bought this as a gift for a Ukulele-loving girl. She loves it. Personally, were I to purchase one of these Ukuleles, going up a notch or two in the line yields a phenomenally playable, supremely finished Ukulele that is truly concert worthy with better tone, sustain, tune-ability, playability and better hardware. Since Ukulele's are not the most expensive instruments out there, going up a notch or two price-wise is not a tremendous financial burden and WELL worth the extra money.

Fun to play! Not a toy, but not a highly detailed hand crafted instrument either. If you're thinking about going on a world concert tour with this Ukulele as lead, you're going to want to upgrade, but get your check book out and write a bigger number in the box. If you're just wanting to have fun plucking the strings and playing a few melodies, make the purchase.

Not the quality I expected. Feels more like a toy.

OK but it’s not what i expected. sound is not so great, but not the worst either. need to tune it again after an hour. dont expect TOO much for a thirty bucks ukulele. it’s ok for its price.

I got a pair of these for my colleague and I to learn and perform "Over the Rainbow" with our 5th grade students. I'm a gigging guitar player, but I've never played uke, so I figured a beginner model would be best for us. Strumming chords is fine, but when I went to play a major scale, I discovered the C string's intonation is complete garbage. I'm so glad I didn't pay the full suggested 60 for this thing, or I'd be sending it back. However, if you've got a kid who doesn't know any better, this is a great first model. Spend more money after you learn the basics.

Could not be tuned and therefore not play. We returned it.

We received it, and while we could tune the strings when open, the fret spacing and string quality were so poor that it was wildly out of tune when you played chords. Basically unplayable. We returned it and spent three times as much on a higher quality version.
