Mitchell MU40C Concert Ukulele, Natural

Came in a really big box but it was nicely protected in the packaging. Great quality and sound. Perfect choice a for beginner. The only bad thing I would say is that the edges of the body are a bit rough, so I would recommend using sandpaper to fix that.

Sizing up to the larger concert size box made a huge difference in sound projection and tone. I recommend the (c) concert version. This slightly larger uke also gives you a wider fretboard. Makes fingering much easier! My first guitar 57 years ago was a baritone uke. I was five years old. Teach your children. They will have this talent all their life.

Fun to play! Not a toy, but not a highly detailed hand crafted instrument either. If you're thinking about going on a world concert tour with this Ukulele as lead, you're going to want to upgrade, but get your check book out and write a bigger number in the box. If you're just wanting to have fun plucking the strings and playing a few melodies, make the purchase.

It sounds great! Ima beginer, but I'm delighted with this ukulele. Is the real thing not a toy and everyone at home loves the sound of it. Soft to the touch, nice " hardware ", its beautifull.Don't know how long it will last since I've had it for a short time now, enjoy learning every day. Yes, y recomend it, would buy again, yes!

Good, workable, very affordable concert size ukelele so that you can get to know the instrument. If serious, you will need a nigher quality instrument. But this ukelele is great for practice, small gatherings, knocking about on the ukelele. No problem if you drop or bump it or whatever, as is not a Martin ukelele. Good buy to have a ukelele around.

Not the quality I expected. Feels more like a toy.

OK but it’s not what i expected. sound is not so great, but not the worst either. need to tune it again after an hour. dont expect TOO much for a thirty bucks ukulele. it’s ok for its price.

As a beginning guitarist (but not musician), I got this on sale for 30 as a way to get more practice. And for that it's worked great. But there are some quality issues that prevent me from giving more than 3 stars. First is the poor intonation. I have to tune the C string flat in order to get the fretted notes to only play a little bit sharp. Meanwhile, the fretted notes on the E and A strings get flatter and flatter as you go down the neck. It costs 50 for a professional setup at GC. So, I either have to live with it, or learn how to cut the nut and shim the saddle myself. For all the talk of "Lindenwood top/back/sides" (and given how cheap Lindenwood is) I assumed the Uke was solid wood. But the edge of the sound hole reveals it to be a laminate. Not a deal breaker, but I'm disappointed the sales copy didn't state this. Especially given how thin the Uke wood is to begin with. Finally, the binding at the lower corner of the fret board was not glued and snaps back when brushed against. A drop of glue should fix that. So if you're looking to get a little extra practice with your fretting and strumming fingers, AND you can get this on sale for 30 or less, why not. But if your looking for instrument to play for or with others, I'd look elsewhere.

Could not be tuned and therefore not play. We returned it.

We received it, and while we could tune the strings when open, the fret spacing and string quality were so poor that it was wildly out of tune when you played chords. Basically unplayable. We returned it and spent three times as much on a higher quality version.
