This mini cabinet is so small and flimsy that it cannot function as a nightstand, and it is def. Too low for a side table. The cabinet cane in a box about the size of a western boot carton, there was neither any styrofoam or paper to protect the pieces. Because of the careless packaging the piece had numerous scratches. It further had splinters separating from the sides. The back slide-in cardboard like material was about 3 shades lighter than the rest of the cabinet. The "drawers" are so small that they may fit a cellphone and charger and that's it. The open shelf side is awkward in size and as I said before, the piece is not stable enough to hold any weight. I cannot recommend this piece, it's simply not worth the money and it does not fit regular American furnishing, unless you sleep on a futon on the floor.
