first off i have only used this a few times so far ..this is the best digger i have ever had ..i love this thing ..cuts a nice plug very easy ..i use this for metal detecting..great quality..great price and very fast shipping..nice handle and this stainless steel..buy one you will love it ..

Ordered this tool to dig out and divide plants that had overgrown their pots, but have not done that yet. A hori-hori was recommended on Texas Gardener tv show for that purpose. Currently, using it for digging out very strong agave root systems planted in containers after everything died in a recent ice storm. It really cuts well on both sides. The blade is long and sturdy enough to get down deep into plant containers but not too long which would be difficult to manage. It is curved which allows me to pick up the soil and move it out of the way in order to do more cutting. Note: I did not use it on the roots of our 6' agave plant--left that for our landscaper with heavier duty tools. I think he used a machete for that one.

Another great Japanese garden tool ! Fantastic product - for digging up flowers from a tight spot , planting, reporting I use this tool instead of trowel. Works so much better. Very sturdy and feels good in my hand.

I was surprised at the quality of this tool. It is extremely sharp and very durable. I can see this being a very nice tool to use for many years to come.

I've been gardening for many years and wish I had found this tool long ago. This tool is sturdy and makes getting to the root of the weed much easier. This tool was also very helpful when splitting my iris bulbs.

I took pot luck a little with this order. While I researched the manufacturer's reviews, I wasn't 100% sure I shouldn't order a different knife. But this one is great! It's balanced well, sharp, the inch markings are useful. So glad I got it, and now I want a holster for it so I can swagger around the yard and make dandelions quail at my approach! Or just plant some pretty bulbs easily and get them at the right depth with a single tool. I stab bags of compost with it, flick weeds out of sidewalk cracks, all sorts of things. I've only used it a few months, but if this ever breaks, I'll be shocked. I bet it outlives me.

For years I’ve struggled with an ordinary garden trowel and shovel. This knife cuts through roots and tough soil with ease and the ruler is helpful to know the depth. The serrated side saws through woodier roots easily. The knife works well out in the garden or for potted plants. So happy with this purchase

Love this tool and every Gardener should have one!!! It's cheaper than the other brand and does the same thing!

I am very happy with purchase, just what I need for dividing plants, made job easier. Wish I had this knife 20 years ago.

this is probably the best gardening tool that I've ever purchsed. the same tool at gardening stores is over $70.
