I was hoping this bag would be a little smaller, but other than that, it seem great. Construction seems to be solid. There is a ton of room inside. You can fit enough in there to make it uncomfortable to carry. When I saw the measurements for it, I thought it would be a great little bag to carry my ultrabook and a few items - like an everyday carry (EDC) bag. Yeah...it's pretty much a "regular" size messenger bag. I'm guessing I'll get used to it and it looks like it's going to last a long time. Walmart had a great price and they shipped really fast. I think it got to my house about 3 days after I ordered it. Nice.
Pros: Big enough for 15" laptop. Lots of room for big textbooks. Lots of space for peripherals. Does not look big. Wide and long shoulder strap. Hand strap. Big secure clips. Thick material. Sturdy. Enough pockets. Cons: No zippers. No soft lining for laptop protection. Velcro is week for laptop strap. Pen holders are exposed. May fall out. Swivel shoulder strap hooks and d-rings "seem" flimsy. Hand strap at angle. Canvas material may get dirty easier than nylon/poly. This would be a good bag for a student. You can fit alot in it, but be aware that it may not be able to take the weight, though. This is just my unverified opinion. The D rings on the side of the bag and the hooks on the shoulder strap are plastic. Metal would have been far better. The strap hooks swivel but this could add to possibility of a more weakened area. I plan to replace them with metal hardware if they do break one day, so no biggy. Another thing. No zippers, only velcro. The smaller pockets close well but the two larger compartments for your laptop and textbooks have one large velcro strap and a smaller one for the laptop compartment are small. They both are about 1" wide and so the velcro may dislodge if your bag ever flips upside down but the clips on the outer flap should keep your larger things in the bag. Smaller things like pens may fall out through the sides of the flap though. Zippers here would have come in handy, at least for the smaller pockets. The pen holder is exposed, and if you have cool pens it looks cool, but I feel the pens can fall out. There is a vynl type material at the bottom of the pen holders to keep the pens in place so they don't slip out, but its still possible. I would have preferred the pen holders inside a pocket. On color, beware that the color is greener, a green actually, than what is depicted online. An actual olive drab would have been really nice like the online pic. The bag seems well made and rugged. Only time will tell on how long it will last. It is a cotton material but thick. I really don't know how long this material lasts compared to the traditional nylon poly materials I'm used to (think backpacks). I like the look of it, although it is casual. There are enough pockets on this bag. Another pocket on the outside of the flap would have been nice but maybe not necessary. Maybe some water bottle holders on the sides too. In all a good bag. I'm just pointing out things that could have been better in my opinion. Remember this bag has a lifetime warranty (this probably means about 4-5 years).
Has plenty of storage. Well made with canvas. Handles my Mac well and does what I wanted. Only wish it had a 2 carry handle system instead of 1. Makes it feel off center. That said, I'd buy it again.
