Modelo Mexican Beer is a family favorite. Our family had been Heineken beer drinkers however Modelo doesn't have a bite taste. Cost savings purchase at Sams Club versus supermarket purchase.

The taste is deep and refreshing. The bottles are unique, which I also love. And to top it all off, my family and friends also enjoy it so I always have someone to share one with.

Coming from a background in craft brewing, I had previously dismissed Modelo Especial as one of "the usual suspects"...but it was through my sommelier training that I learned to open doors previously closed to food and people pairings. At a recent carne asada, or bbq event, in the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas, someone gave me a 7oz Modelito served in a tall wine glass. It was delicious and refreshing with a slight bready flavor, as if I were tapping a barrel at the cervecería (brewery) myself. It also positively changed my perspective on the brand after I tasted a few more that day, including a sampling of the mysteriously dark Modelo Negra.

It gave everyone something to reach for depending on their mood, and it kept the cooler feeling well-stocked without us having to overthink it. Did we enjoy the variety across Oro, Chelada Especial, and Especial? Absolutely. Modelo Oro was super crisp and light — perfect for daytime hangs or when someone wants a beer that won't weigh them down. Modelo Especial brought that classic, balanced lager taste that's always a crowd-pleaser. And Modelo Chelada Especial was the star for me — I love the Cheladas because the flavors are authentic. You get that real tomato, lime, salt, and spice profile without having to mix anything yourself. Refreshing and flavorful? Yes, each one in its own way. Oro is clean and ultra-refreshing, Especial has that smooth, full lager flavor with a crisp finish, and the Chelada Especial is bold and zesty while still being really drinkable. Nothing tasted watered-down or artificial. Right balance of lightness, classic lager taste, and chelada-style ingredients? 100%. That's what makes the lineup so easy to serve at gatherings. Oro covers the light side, Especial nails the classic Mexican lager, and Chelada Especial delivers on chelada-style ingredients with zero prep. It really feels like Modelo thought about all the bases.

I also like enjoying it at family parties and with friends!! Modelo has a great taste that doesn't compare with other kinds of beers i've had!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this beer! I love that it has a much more complex flavor than I expect from beer, and the fizz is pretty great too. We all loved it, and it was actually refreshing drinking in the backyard with the breeze since our AC is out inside. We will be doing this again.

Great taste, good alternative to corona. Foil wrapping around the top is a tad annoying. You either spend too much time peeling the foil or you end up with the foil in your mouth as you drink it. Good only if you have time to peel the foil back or you're planning to drink out of a glass.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Modelo was incredibly crisp. I like that very much. However, both my husband and I thought there was really no taste. I wouldn't even really know that I was drinking beer as it had NO taste. Cold and refreshing...YES! I will not be buying this again. No thanks.
