Modelo Oro Mexican Lager Import Light Beer, 12 Pack 12 fl. oz. Bottles, 4.0% ABV

Unable to brew my own any longer. Got introduced to Modelo Oro at restraunt and thought it was close to my house beer. 5 years ago. HOWEVER, now the past month or so it has been unobtainable. This current weekend it is on SALE but not on stock in any size. Hard to continue review if out of stock 5 weeks in a row.

It has a light, clean, and refreshing taste that is perfect for warm days or pairing with a meal without feeling heavy. I liked that it keeps the classic Mexican lager character while offering a lighter drinking experience. Served cold, it was one of the favorites among the people I shared it with. I would definitely buy it again.

I specifically added it thinking some guests would want something lighter, but in practice most people didn't treat it as a first choice. It's smoother and lighter, but that also makes it feel a bit less satisfying compared to the Especial. A few guests who were pacing themselves liked it, but overall it didn't get the same attention. For a party setting, it's useful, but not essential.

The overall experience with the Modelo Lagers and Cheladas is to start with the Lagers first then save the Cheladas for the hangovers. Or mix the cheladas with the lagers. You have options! The party guests enjoyed the Modelo Lagers more than the Modelo Cheladas as the Modelo Cheladas are more of an aquired taste. All of the lagers were refreshing and flavorful in their own way. You cannot go wrong with Modelo- Modelo's lineup offers the right balance of lightness, classic lager taste, and chelada style ingredients! The Modelo Oro stood out the most to me as it is the most classic out of the entire Modelo lineup offered and it was light and flavorful. I highly recommend the Modelo lineup to all of my closest amigos y familia (family and friends) who enjoy drinking lagers and cheladas during fútbol (soccer) watch parties and celebrations! I have found a new Modelo lager that I will buy in the future for more fútbol (soccer) watch parties beyond the FIFA World Cup- Modelo Oro. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Modelo Especial has always been a favorite and usually a first choice. The newer Modelo Oro is an outstanding light beer. It puts the over hyped ultra to shame. Just like the Especial, Oro is refreshing with that classic crisp lager taste. The Chelada is another favorite, whether it's the basic Chelada flavor or any of the fruit varieties. They could be a little spicier, but that's a personal preference. The pineapple and watermelon flavored Cheladas are probably my favorites while my husband's would be the Modelo Negra Chelada. He's officially putting in his request to see these offered in 12 packs! We have already recommended Modelo Oro and the Chelada varieties to several friends and there will always be some kind of Modelo in the cooler for any occasion.
