Modern Moments by Gerber Baby Boy Play Mat, Brown

I was given this play mat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 5 month old son has really enjoyed it, and been much better than just a blanket with toys. He's really enjoyed kicking the crinkly feet, and exploring the rings and rattle. I did try to prop up the mirror in order for it to be more interactive for him. It's convenient to have the toys attached, so I love that aspect. The material is very soft and was easy to clean with a baby wipe; I could see it being difficult to clean if there was a blow out. Overall we are loving it, and I would recommend this to a friend or purchase as a gift!

When I saw this product for the first time I said "what beautiful colors and what soft fabric", it is a very beautiful product and totally approved by my baby, which is the most important thing. As a new mom I really didn't know what my baby would need to have a fun time during his tummy time but over the months I learned that he can have a lot of fun with the accessories that this playmat has (rattles, mirrors and things that make a lot of noise never fail with babies), his favorite is the rattle. In relation to the price it is definitely pretty good, I have seen other similar products and they are very expensive, thanks Gerber for your good products and thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing my baby to try this playmat!

I received the Gerber Modern Moments Play Mat through Stellar Product Testing Panel. My first impression of the product was that it looked cute and not overwhelming like most baby toys with all the bright colors. It's very simple and would look great in any nursery. My little one liked tummy time on the mat, but only for a few minutes since he isn't a big fan of tummy time. He really enjoyed kicking his feet on the crinkly fox feet. I liked that it is compact and you can bring it anywhere. A couple of minor issues I saw was that it was not machine washable. My little one enjoyed looking at himself in the mirror but I felt it was a little small. Overall this product is great and would make a great baby gift!

What baby thought: When I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I wasn't sure how much my 6 month old would enjoy it as he spends most of his energy these days trying to become mobile and scooting tiny bits (mostly backwards and in circles). But he absolutely loved it! The play elements are all spread out, which helped to encourage movement and eliminate his frustration of scooting away from all his toys (there were things to play with no matter which direction he scooted!). He already loved crinkle noises and chew rings, so those two elements were a big hit with him. He didn't really have any interest in the little ribbon on the ears, but he really enjoyed the rest of the mat (including the tags sticking off the side). He loved rubbing his hands and face on the differently textured soft fabrics. This mat was definitely an enhancement to tummy time and helped relieve some of his recent frustrations. What mama thought: I loved the design of this mat from the moment I pulled it out of the box - very cute and soft. My favorite part: the whole thing can be folded up and stored and doesn't take up much space at all! With all the play elements being tethered right to the mat, I can easily pick it up and move it from room to room rather than having to try to juggle an armful of toys and the baby. The thickness of the mat also meant that I could use it on our cold hard floor without having to worry about his little hands or tummy getting cold. My one disappointment is that it is not machine washable. It does say that you can wipe it clean, but with such soft fabric, I am afraid it will still retain a lot of germs. Overall, though, this is an excellent product that I would definitely recommend. It will certainly be used for my future kiddos as well!

I was given this baby toy to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The overall look of this play mat is really cute. With a mix of earthy tones and neutrals, I left it out on the floor and it doesn't make my room feel overrun with baby toys. I love the details and toys as part of the mat - the mirror, rings, crinkle paper, etc. It gave my 3 month old son lots to explore and touch. It made engaging him during tummy time much easier since I had multiple toys at my disposable. I could hold up the mirror or use the rattle to capture his attention. But I wish that some of the toys were removable from the mat so that it could age with him a bit longer. The size of the mat felt a little small relative to other play mats that I have seen, but that does make it easy to move room to room or a good option to bring on the go. Overall, I love the look of the Fox for a little boys room and it offered multiple toys to make tummy time last longer.

I was given this baby toy to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We have had the product and used it daily for the past couple of weeks. When it arrived we were all very excited. It is an extremely cute design and we like how muted the colors that are used are. The material wipes very easily with a burp cloth or towel when our little one has spit up on it. I appreciate that it has a “back” lined with a more utilitarian material, but then hands and feet of the fox have the soft, fuzzy material wrapped around the front and back, especially since that is where the majority of LO's time is spent. I also appreciate the activities are meant for soothing exploration with the use of color, texture, and sound that isn't too overwhelming; the feet crinkle, but that isn't annoying. Our little guy favors the crinkly feet and mirror over the rattle toy and rings. Funny enough he played with the warning tags more than the ribbons (I had to cut them off) - he actually rarely interacts with the ribbons at the ears. When I put the mat down and put LO down on it I immediately said, “I wish it was bigger”. Our baby is 7.5 months old and has really enjoyed tummy time with this mat, but he's is already almost too big for it, but I layer it over the top of a blanket and that keeps him from rolling off on to the floor. However, we have a small place (600 sq ft) so it actually fit quite nicely in that regard. Overall, the product has held up surprisingly well with the exception of the stitched tree - the stitching has already frayed. Considering the majority of the fox is white I was surprised that it has been easy to keep clean. It's folds up and fits into a bag for easy travel and we have easily brought it around. Our little boy has taken to relaxing on the mat - he will let his head down and just cuddle up with it, which is just the sweetest thing! In learning the price I did feel that I likely would have been disappointed in the product had I spent $40 on it. I think if it was bigger, or had I gotten it when my baby was smaller maybe I wouldn't have this perspective.

I LOVE that everything is attached—so there aren't any extra pieces that can get lost or choked on. My baby loves the mirror, and it helps tummy time last longer! It's also nice if you don't have a ton of free space in your home. It definitely doesn't take up as much space as traditional play mats with the dangly pieces. My only complaint is that I wish it had a piece of velcro or something so you could fold it up and put it away. But overall it's great!

I was given this baby toy to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I'm so happy that I was. It is extremely soft which made tummy time very enjoyable for my little one. This play mat is simple and pleasant to look at. No unnecessary lights and sounds that overstimulate baby. There are a few sensory experiences in various forms which keeps baby's attention. The mat has a mirror for baby to look at themselves while doing tummy time as well as teething rings and stuffed animal rattle. The thing I like most about this activity mat is there is room to grow, when my baby gets older we will still be able to use it. Would definitely make a great baby gift.

The playmat is very soft and comfy for my little one. He liked playing with the mirror and attached toys. Unfortunately, this play mat is quite small so it's more suitable for 0-3 months, whereas my child is 8 months and kept crawling off.
