I really like the wave on and off feature of this faucet. If I was to change one thing, I would prefer a longer hose length.
We've got this model and today it stopped functioning. I figured it just needed new batteries (6 AA in our case). I installed new batteries but that didn't solve the problem. However, I saw the sensor light changing colors, cycling through red, purple and blue for a second or two. I figured the faucet was broken, but I read somewhere else online that it might be possible to reset the sensor circuit. I tried the first way, cycling from hot to cold three times with the sensor covered but that didn't work. I tried the next option, disconnecting the power plug for a minimum of 10 seconds and then reconnecting it. (I don't know if just removing the batteries does the same thing.) I also made sure the sensor window was clean. Just in case, I also disconnected and reconnected the sensor cable where it goes into the controller box. I also made sure items like dish soap were at least eight inches away from the sensor; we had some stuff closer than that and it's possible that may have caused the need for a reset - or maybe it didn't. Anyway, doing those three things (or maybe just reconnecting the power cable after 10 seconds) fixed the problem and we're back in business. In short, if the sensor on your faucet isn't working and the little window is clean, try removing power for 10 seconds or more. Note to Moen webmaster: You know what really ticks me off as a web developer? When the requirements for a user name or password aren't revealed in advance. I used a nickname that didn't meet your unspecified requirements, but I did get a nice warning telling me my choice didn't meet your requirements. Fix that great example of poor user experience design. Also, please let us know in advance that ad blockers don't with with your system. Do you have ANY idea how many people you frustrate? I almost decided to skip posting a review because of these design problems. It would have been Moen's loss because I really like the faucet.
I was very excited to use my new faucet but I find the technology a bit lacking. If you don't wave your hand just right in front of the sensor, the faucet does not turn on or off. If I had to do it again, I would buy a touch faucet instead.
Bought this kitchen faucet yesterday. The first one didn't work due to a faulty sensor. Installed the replacement today. It won't stop dripping when the water is turned off. Moen was always a good brand name, but now I am not very impressed. Also, without power there is no manual water; that is surprising. I understand the need for power for the sensor but if I use the handle I would expect water without the power source. The quick connects are the only reason I'm giving it a two.
We replaced our touch kitchen faucet (different brand) with the Moen Essie because our plumber said Moen was the best. While we're happy with the look of the faucet, we're disappointed in its features. With the motion sensor on the side of the faucet, water drips all over the back of the sink every time we use it. Also, using the motion sensor gives you a full aerated stream only. If you want a slower, less forceful stream of water, you must use the handle, which refutes the notion that its touchless and hands free.
I bougth this on 2018 then installed it to my new home, 2019 the issue began (on & off) did the initial troubleshooting - replaced batteries, unplugged then plugin back again as per instructions manual, it works but next day same issue came back. I called the hotline, they replaced with the new one then today 7/27/2020 the same issue (on & off) again. Did the same workaround for troubleshooting, it works for now will observe again, cross-finger hope the problem goes away.
Worked great for six months but then we ran into the battery/malfunctioning issue, like others on here. Replaced batteries twice, now no flow, even with handle. The sensor light is flashing different colors (green, purple, blue) and water is spurting out every couple of seconds in double spurts. Even when the handle is off. They are sending us a new battery pack but I don't think that's going to solve the problem, it seems like this is a flawed product. Water won't even come even with the handle open. Water spurts our randomly with handle closed.
My faucet turned on by itself last evening. I removed and reconnected the batteries to get the water to stop, but as soon as the water was turned on again, nothing I tried would turn it off other than shut off the supply lines. I noticed the sensor light turning red/purple/blue when reinserting the battery wire. After reading one of the reviews here, I tried resetting the sensor circuit, by covering the sensor and cycling the handle from hot/cold three times. That appears to have fixed the problem for now, but the fact that the faucet turned itself on bothers me greatly. There's quite a few reviews that report the same problem. Moen should determine the design flaw in their sensor and replace it for free.
I've had this faucet installed in my kitchen for almost two years and tonight it decides to turn on and off by itself. Iv'e gone through all the trouble shooting in guide that came with it, to no avail. My parents still have the same kitchen faucet since their house was built in 1979. I can't get a faucet to last two years.
I installed product about 2 months ago and here i am on this site now looking for replacement parts! As i read the reviews i see I'm not alone in my issue. This faucet costs entirely too much money to malfunction in 2 months. The faucet turned on by itself and wouldn't turn off, i too had to turn the water off completely. I've had to replace the batteries twice so far, now the battery pack is broken or the cord that connects to the faucet is striped. So now I've been 2 weeks with no use of my kitchen sink. At this rate i don't even know if i want replacement parts or just want to trash this faucet and buy a different one from elsewhere.
