Mongoose 18-in Burst Kid's Bike, Single Speed, Blue & Orange

My six year old loves his bike. He had never had a bike other than a balance bike and learned quickly how to pedal and brake. He did need the training wheels and we are now in the process of teaching him to ride without training wheels. The bike was easy for me to put together and took about a half an hour ot could be a lot faster for people with experience. I never put a bike together and it was easy to figure out. It included detailed instructions that were easy to follow. The instructions were needed for the hand brakes everything else was easy to do without the need for instructions since the bike arrived just needing the handle bars, seat, wheels and training wheels on with the needed bolts in place loosely so it was easy to know which parts went where. The color of the bike is very bright and vibrant and go very well together.

This is a great bike. The colors are fun and bright. I normally wouldn't think the colors would compliment each other but they do and it looks nice. Kinda reminds me of the Denver Broncos which is awesome because one of my favorite teams. It was easy to put together and follow the instructions. Minimal tools required. It has front and back brake pads as well as an adjustable seat. It comes with training wheels that can be added on if needed which is nice but we don't need them. The bike does not come with a kickstand though so we will have to purchase that because kick stands are needed. I don't know why they didn't include it unless they assumed it would always be used with training wheels always. Having both included would have made this much better. But it is still a great bike that rides good. My son is super excited to ride this bike and has been on it nonstop.

It started off all wrong. Ordered bicycle. Was supposed to ship from third party seller. Day of delivery says package arrived, but no package found. Waited the two days as instructed by Walmart to see if it would arrive. Nothing. Contacted customer service and found that third party seller had been removed because of issues. I search for same bicycle on Walmart app and now it showed in stock shipping from Walmart. However it was more money. I explained this to the customer representative and she issued a $25 dollars promo code to cover the difference and inconvenience. I am satisfied with the results on this transaction. A few days later received bicycle. Box was torn on one end. Causing one of the bicycles rim and tire to protrude through. Removed bicycle from package to inspect it. Found that front rim had been damaged. Over all Walmart has been great with its customer service and I'm reasonable. FYI bicycle doesn't come with kickstand and front handle bar reflector mounting doesn't fit properly. Where it should be mounted because of reflector bracket not designed correctly. It's a nice bicycle. Eye catcher. Colors pop.

My daughter is beyond thrilled with her Mongoose Burst Bike. This bike is a beautiful, vibrant blue with orange trim. Even the tires are orange. The seat is adjustable, and doesn't require tools to adjust it, and comfortable to sit on. I really like that this bike has both hand brakes and coaster brakes. My daughter is fairly new to riding a bike, so it's nice that she has both types of brakes, since she hasn't quite gotten the hang of hand breaks yet. This bike also comes with removable training wheels, so it's perfect for a young rider practicing riding a big kid bike before removing the training wheels. This bike is easy to assemble, well made and excellent quality. All in all, this is a great bike that will be loved and rode for years to come.

I was so excited when I saw a bike that was my son's two favorite colors! He absolutely loves this bike and rode it every day for two weeks after he got it. It did need some assembly, but it was easy and the instructions were helpful. We didn't need the training wheels, so I do wish it came with a kickstand, but it hasn't been on the ground long enough yet to need one and I can add it later. The seat, which could use a bit more padding, is adjustable and so are the handlebars. The brakes work as they should. I love the safety reflectors and can see him down the driveway when it starts to get dark. Couldn't be happier.

I loved the colors of the bike. My son is wanting to go outside daily just to ride it. Now I have to buy my daughter one as well. The only bad thing that I was upset was the box came with a huge hole and of course well that scratched the brand new bike back tire and broke the the backside reflector light as seen in the pictures.

Not only is this a great looking bike with its metallic blue color and bright orange tires and trim, it's easy to see, making it safer, and very durable. It came partially assembled, and wasn't difficult to put together. If I had to say the only drawback I found on this bike was that once the training wheels come off, there is no kick stand, but they are replaced with pegs. It's a perfect beginner bike. The seat is adjustable and the handlebars can be brought forward too. It has hand brakes and foot brakes. There's also a little reflector on the front. Excellent bike.

Easy to put together. Poor quality. Came with large scratches. Break wire in back has no cap on end of wire. Starting to fray. Nothing that makes it unable to ride. Just disappointing. My son was so excited to get this bike since his dad ran over his previous bike. We just decided to keep it.

Should have listened to the reviews. A week late, worried about it not getting here for my grandsons birthday and when it did, the box was torn and taped back up. After we got it put together, the handlebars will NOT stay tight and keep sliding down, the back hand brakes dont work, the front hands brakes were broken and the back wheel is so warped, its not even round. The frame is totally scratched up on top of all of that. I contacted customer service but have as of yet, not heard anything back. Theres going to be a very disappointed little boy on his birthday.

TL;DR: came missing a necessary part, was scratched, instructions are impossible This bike literally is still not ready to go and has been around my house FOR.A.MONTH. This was my son's birthday present, and his dad was putting it together and realized it was missing a bolt for the wheel. I took one off his old bike but it didn't work. After going to the mongoose website, I did a chat and gave a bunch of info and they sent 2 new bolts, so I was happy that I could finally put it together. So I'm trying to put this tire on, and I realize that my husband put one part on backwards, but I only knew that because of a single picture in the booklet because the instructions are HORRIBLE. It's like they didn't want to make separate instruction booklets for all their bikes, so they just combined them all into one. I still can't get the stupid front brakes to be in the right spot. I have tried messing with every piece of it and they are just not tight enough. It also came scratched. I could not dislike this bike more.
