My husband and I bought bikes over 11years ago and I was terrified to ride the 26" bike that I bought ( I couldn't touch the ground). We bought this one and I can touch the ground, been out several times on it!!!!. Easy to ride and switch gears, breaks work great. I would highly recommend this bike for a shorter girl I'm 5'1" as I feel completely safe and secure on it!!!

Wanted to get my 9 year old daughter a bike for her birthday and after many test trips up and down the bike aisle trying different bikes this one was the winner for both of us. Other 24 inch bikes were just too tall for her but this one had the lower top frame bar which made a big difference in her being able to handle it. She also stated that the brakes on this bike worked much better. More effective braking under much less lever effort than other bikes. The gears are a new thing to her but after getting it home and explaining the whole switching gears process, she it!!

Bought this bicycle on-line. Fast in-store delivery. Easy pick up. Gears shift easily and positively. Brakes work good. Bike came in a box. Needed to use hex wrenches to install pedals, handle bar and front tire. Went together easily. No gear or brake adjustment necessary as they were adjusted at factory. Front wheel needed slight spoke adjustment with spoke wrench. Easy if you know how. That is the reason I gave it a good rather than excellent rating. Excellent quality and easy riding. Would recommend it. Bought it for my PTW (Part Time Woman) visiting me. She really likes it. Lone Outdoorsman

I bought this bike for my daughter's birthday. She was thrilled. It was assembled well. The brakes are great and she loves the changes in speed. My only complaint is that the bike was advertised as having 21 speeds, but it doesn't go past 7. Maybe I don't know enough about bikes to know that 21 speeds mean something else. Overall, good buy.

The bike is great, however when we got it home, we soon seen that the brakes weren't installed properly. We had to fight to get them corrected.

Package came as promised,on time & in good condition. We assembled the last Mongoose bike we ordered from Walmart with ease, so we knew we could assemble this one...wrong. This bike was a nightmare to assemble. We have 10 Allen wrenches, and even that was a pain---the one we needed was not included & we didn't have that one. After an hour and a half otherwise, we just decided to take it to a shop to have them finish it--chain, gears, etc....That being said....the price was right. Great tires for dirt and pavement. A great ride. Beautiful color with the hot pink lettering on the black. The 24" size was perfect, not too big for my pre-teen daughter, and the bike was not as heavy as I expected. Got it up on a tall bike rack without much effort. It is a very tight squeeze for a water bottle because of the bike bars. Two screws are pre-installed. You can not fit a tall bottle. You can put a handlebarwater bottle holder. Or we chose to install a bracket that can release the bottle sideways ($10 at REI) and found a short bottle there for $8. The seat is decent and quick release. Overall my daughter loves the bike. But I wouldn't assemble this bike again, and the main reason I took 2 stars off the rating.

I bought for granddaughter ,who is 12. Loved bike it lasted 4 days, chain kept coming off, found gear in derailler was broken. Why would you put plastic gear on a mountain bike chain? She had only rode bike in driveway, she is only 80 lbs and short ????? Will never buy mongoose again.
