Received this today and just set it up. Minimal setup required. Frets are a tad sharp at the edges, but not terrible. No blems on the finish. Bought it for my 9 year old son, as he's always stealing my Les Paul lol. This is my 3rd Indio and they're great bang for the buck.
Was not disappointed. I got the sunburst finish and was impressed by the trapezoidal inlays- a nice contrast to the dark fretboard. It was intoned well and all specs were standard lp. Pickups and electronics work well together. No need to file fret edges, already done nicely. Only con is the fretboard material, otherwise a no brainer- get one
I got this for only $58!!! My expectations were low, but man it looks great and plays really well right out of the box. It's better than the Donner LP I got and returned. The finish is brighter and more vibrant than the Donner and it plays better for $100 less. The gig bag is also really really good with lots of padding. I got the Indio Telecaster style on the same day for only $66 and it's ok, but needs work. This guitar really doesn't need a thing, maybe a string change at most. I played it for a couple of hours the other day and it just plays so so well for being so inexpensive.
The one that I received was in very good to almost excellent condition. It had just a bit of fret sprout on arrival, but after it adjusted to the currently humid conditions, it's fine. This guitar is a player. It feels good in the hands (I have long fingers but if you have medium sized hands it should be fine). The neck is easy to move up and down on. The action was just right for me. I haven't taken it apart yet, but for what I paid for it, I am quite pleased. This is my sixth Indio I've bought. This one is a keeper.
This guitar competes with the Epiphone Special guitar. The design of this guitar, I'd call 2/3 Fender and 1/3 Gibson. It has the neck held on by woodscrews, to the body (no they are not bolts, they are wood screws), which is a Fender style attachment. It has a maple neck (another Fender style feature.) The body is basically a flat plank of wood (like Telecaster, but cut to the shape of a Les Paul style guitar) But it has humbuckers, and an angled headstock (both Gibson features.) It's a very nice little guitar. The stock pickups sound good. It's a relatively light weight guitar. It's really quite a nice guitar. And the price is good.
This is a nice guitar. I received the black version and it arrived with so imperfections, a smooth neck and no sharp frett ends. It plays and feels very nice. Overall a great value considering the price point for a humbucking guitar. But don't tell everybody or there won't be any left.(joke)
I can?t give it 5-stars because it had rough fret ends but I didn?t expect a perfect guitar at this price point. I gave it a little TLC, a new nut, and it plays great. Excellent finish too. It?s a great platform to mod as well. This is my 3rd Indio guitar.
At a price of $106.00 it is a nice guitar. I assemble and upgrade guitars as a hobby, so minor issues are not a problem. Pros : Nice dark blue color . Maple neck feels and looks really nice. This neck is about 43mm wide at the nut and the fretboard is flat like a LP. 12 inch radius , I think. Basically a C shaped neck. Pickups sound fine. Cons : Needs a set up. The strings buzz slightly. The fret ends are sharp and need attention. Not hard to fix and is commonly found on budget guitars. I'm going to replace the tuners and the nut with a bone nut blank and file it myself. Overall a good instrument at this price.
Overall very pleased with the quality of this guitar. Required little set up and was certainly playable right out of the box. Despite the very dry air this time of year, I found little or no fret sprout. Frets themselves are medium size, and the fret ends were only very slightly rough. The hardware was pretty good, though the machines had some backlash. The pickups are OK (about as expected at this price) and they are wax potted. The fingerboard and inlays were nice I thought, but the neck is 'satin' in the sense that it has just enough lacquer to not be bare wood. I got the red sunburst version but I have to say that it is not nearly as bright orangy as it appears in the photo on the website. I would say that the color of the back, sides, and front outer edges are a dark apple red, fading to a medium orange centered on the tailpiece. I was surprised at the good quality of the included gig bag which had a decent amount of padding. In summary, I think this guitar is an amazing value.
My classic 66 v2 for the money Is great guitar for the money . Aesthetics are nice , . However, tuners have some dead spots in them and neck needed a slight shim as in my les Paul guitars I like really low action . But that?s my preference . Out of the box . Fret ends were decent and neck was straight ! For the price I want to get the blue one and have a matching set lol ! Easily 4 out of 5 stars . I think this would be a great starter and as in my case , a good guitar to take ona jam . I?ve never been disappointed by any of my monoprice guitars as of yet . I?m on my 5th one and hope to get more when money allows !
