I really like the cables. They're just what I needed to keep the reack clean looking. They appear to be well made and I love the fact that I can buy them in singles if needed. I generally like to buy in the quantities needed and various lengths without haveing to buy excessive quantities of each. The prices were better than where I used to buy them.
Very durable and the colors are so nice I didn't even hide the cables!
Not as lightweight as the original slimrun cat6e, but by the same token, perhaps more sturdy.
0.5ft slimrun cables were exactly as expected. Very nice. Actually, i plan on ordering more this week. The only issue I had was i ordered two different colors. For some reason they weren't shipped together so i had to wait a little longer for one of the packages.
THese are great cables for short runs on a rack to same on space and are easy to install. Also use a longer (30') in orange for connection to networks with my laptop for programming. The bright color makes it easy not to forget in the rack and the thin cable makes it easy to roll up and put in my bag.
I really like these as patch cables because the connectors are solid and easy to release, and the cables are very thin. However, do note that they are rated as Cat6 but are 28AWG so the conductors are relatively thin. That might be a problem for longer runs if you are connecting PoE devices.
I was struggling when opening files after I started working from home. Before I just didn't notice the time it was taking as it was very random. Now it's daily/hourly so I got impatient. Ran a speed test and was getting 10-15Mbps download speeds. Boo. I didn't have a long enough Cat5 cable at home so went to Monoprice for a longer cable and selected a Cat6. My speed is now regularly 200+Mbps, and I'm a very happy temporary teleworker.
These cables install nicely in a busy equipment rack, however, I am finding 5% of them do not work. I believe some are failing due to cable length, although the actual cable segment alone is less than 80 meters. I also have wireless access points and some phones requiring PoE that will not work either. This requires I fall back to the older, larger, uglier data patch cables.
It's not necessarily a common issue, but my kittens have gnawed through two of the cables so far. That doesn't do much for the transmission rates. :-( Love the size and thin profile, though. Looking for cable mgmt solutions now - which kind of defeats the purpose of a thin ntwk cable.
I have not had a chance to use them yet. So I cannot rate them.
