Great guitar, arrived early and was very well wrapped for shipping. The guitar needed to be tuned and that's all, it had no sharp frets and the intonation was spot on.
I'm very pleased with this guitar. The neck feels great the pickups are not the real jazzmaster ones, but they cost twice what this guitar does, and they do give you that jazzmaster quackey sound. The build quality is good, it does have a 2 pice body you can see in the photo.
Not only are this guitar and padded gig bag amazing, the price was great AND.... it was delivered days of the anticipated date!!!
Have held her a bit and still on cloud NINE!! That's eight miles up and still climbing!!! Wow, did mucho research, reviews etc and pulled the trigger, "on sale" no less!!! Humbucker guy but fell hard for this OS40Nat with "Soapbars"...tone range as nuts as the "promise"...add pedals and I put away my telescope...lovely universe up here!, Paw-Paw Walt in O'doville
I saw this OS-40 in blue...and it was on sale! How could I say "no"? Fit and finish are better than expected, the neck and frets feel good. It was obvious that someone had taken the time to set it up as the action and intonation were (mostly) acceptable. The low-E string's intonation was a bit sharp, and the saddle is maxed out. However, a tiny bit of compromise on the tuning (make it a touch flat) and then the pitches up the string line up nicely. The pickups far exceed my expectations. They look like P-90's, but I think they are intended to be imitations of the Jazzmaster's soap bar pickups. The product description says that they are supposed to sound somewhere between a single-coil and a humbucker, and I think that is about right. I think the sound favors the single-coil sound a little more and that is confirmed by playing my other guitar with the humbuckers. This guitar also comes with a real honest-to-goodness gig bag! It is at best light to medium-duty, but at this price point that is still a massive bonus. Oh, and it's blue. Daddy digs blue!
I was looking at getting a more expensive version of this guitar from a name brand guitar manufacturer. Monoprice read my mind... They made this guitar and I knew I had to get it. I got it, plugged it in, used Monoprice's S1C! Silicon Fuzz pedal and rocked out. It's got me pretty stoked. I was joking with my friend that my guitar set up is all Monoprice. I have 40-watt, 1x10 amp, and every effects pedal that Monoprice has released. All in all I get pretty stoked with this. The bridge screws do rattle sometimes when I crank it up which causes a little bit of buzz but I have learned to love this over time as it gives it character when I play. I'm stoked, don't know if my neighbors are (I turn this puppy up pretty loud, I like my music like I like my dogs - with some bite in them). Enjoi!!!
Love the guitar. Needed some fret-work to address sharp ends. Replaced the tuners because I wanted an upgrade. Replaced strings as well. The fit/finish was excellent. Got it on sale, so the new tuners did not raise the cost of the normally priced guitar. I got the blue one, the color is much better than the picture on the website.
The setup was great right out of the box with perfect intonation string hight etc. At this price, I didn't expect its quailty to be this high. This Indio makes my Mexican Fender Strat (bought 20 years ago) look like a piece fo junk That said I did adjust the tremlo tension, tightened the tuners and polished the fret edges. I love the way the Indio feels. and the P90 pickups add a unique sound to my inventory.
sent item back because it was not good had a lot of problems and it looked like it was sent back before I had it and just shipped out to me with out even opening the return to see if it was ok . I won't buy anything from this Monprice they don't know I sent it back and ASKED FOR A REVIEW.
I received the guitar, open up the box only to find the tremolo bar missing, I immediately contacted Monoprice and I was told I had to return the whole guitar as they were unable to supply me with just the tremolo arm. I didn't even get a chance to really play it, it did seem okay for a quick inspection, but I've been waiting now for a while for the replacement to show up
