As if learning to being aware of self-corporeality

Kyung April 11, 2021

excellent! Just the right kind of difficulty for brain to various dexterity kind of game for what I think to be for ages 18 . The amount and lack of hyper-gruesome violence is just the right pinch of sugar/spice and there are slight elements of papercraft D-n-D that can endow the players with a sleight extra emphasis of riddle-solving. Really must recommend this title for hard at thought kind of thinkers that are ever ready for energetic sorts of video game stimuli. The level of play progresses to fiendishly difficult and hairy sometimes. Love it!

A must have for Switch owners and MH fans.

Kevin March 29, 2021

I've played it for around 10 hours and so far it's easily as good as the last Monster Hunter when it launched. Better even in some ways. The movement mechanics such as palamutes and wirebugs are easily some of the best revisions/additions to the series to date and getting around has never been so fun and unrestrictive. Performance is also really good too for all the action that happens on screen. This is basically a cut down Monster Hunter World for graphics (but a new game for content) and you can have 4 people on screen attacking monsters without any dips. Overall it's a great entry point to the series and I also highly recommend to anyone who liked World and doesn't mind the worse graphics.

One of the best, I love it.

NJWorkerBee May 2, 2021

This is sooo good. The control is exceptionaly responsive. I feel this is better than World. It is a hard game if you solo the hub quests. I feel the jump to high rank on hub massively increased the difficulty. the single player village quests are all low rank only, nintendo online is almost mandatory.

Great Introduction to the Series!

Joseph June 2, 2021

The game is a lot of fun, it follows a simple gameplay loop of going out hunting monsters for parts, coming back to the village to make new weapons and armor with said parts, and heading back out hunting even bigger monsters. This game does add a couple new mechanics such as the Palamutes which are mountable dogs, and then the Wirebugs which are the grappling hooks that allow you to climb up hills and explore vertically. There is a steep learning curve as there are 14 weapons each with their own mechanics and combos, and a ton of monsters with their own strengths and weaknesses but once you find a weapon that works for you and understand the mechanics of the monsters the game becomes a blast, especially in multiplayer! There are two types of quests, Village and Hub quests where you do single player hunts or multiplayer hunts, and in those Hub quests the monsters are a lot stronger. Highly recommend playing online as it enhances the experience.

Best Monster Hunter on Nintendo

Joseph May 3, 2024

Best Monster Hunter I've played in a long time. Very fun and the graphics look great on Switch. Sunbreak DLC is a must. You can play co-op with up to 4 people but they require their own Switch and game

Extremely fun game! I played this after the other world they remade. I would advise to set aside some real time to learn all the mechanics if you're new to the world of this game. I put 120 hours into it and barely scratched the surface.

Great game delivered perfectly.

Bigsby October 17, 2023

I really enjoy it. Its the only MH game for the Switch but its got a lot of things that make it really enjoyable, especially compared to the older titles. The package arrived perfect and in good time. My only real complaint, which is true of so many games these days is the lack of manual. Call me oldschool but when a game as tough as this lacks a manual to teach me better to play, I like something non-digital to flip through.

One of the best games on the switch.

Cameron April 5, 2021

I would have given this game a 5/5 if there was more content. The story ends at such a weird time and feels like there should be more going on. However, there is going to be an update that will be adding more monsters such as chameleons, apex rathalos, and probably gore magala because of the roar that you could hear in the trailer. The update will also unlock the HR cap and extend the story which will definitely extend the lifespan of this game. Hopefully we can get dlc that adds G rank into the game as well kind of how iceborne was released later for world and added G rank. Don't get me wrong this game has a lot of stuff to do compared to other games but after coming off of mhgu and mh4u; I feel like it needs more elder dragons. I would highly recommend this game to everyone even if you have never tried a monster hunter game. Monster hunter rise is also one of the best looking games on the switch. The gameplay is superb, the wirebug is an amazing addition to the game, the map has no more loading times, and the new monsters are extremely enjoyable to fight. Just give me more elder dragons and unlock my hunter rank cap and I will switch this review to 5/5 stars. That update should be coming out in late April so I am excited. Also don't capture every monster online because you get different rewards for capturing rather than hunting the monster.

Game was late even tho preordred fed ex is a joke

Chris April 1, 2021

Its a great game not for everyone im sure. Only issue i had was i preordered it and fedex still delivered it late. Also they kept saying it would be delivered by end if the day and didnt change that till about 10:00pm . For that reason as long as walmart uses fedex i wont order games online from them

Not Sure Yet

Pamela December 17, 2024

If Walmart would ever ship this out, we might be able to give an honest review. I've ordered this 3 times and all 3 have been "lost in shipping"? FedEx tells me they never received them
