[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really nice when something works exactly as advertised! This truly is plug and play (note: I used this mic with an iPhone 12 Pro). You really just plug it in to the Lightning port and start recording. The alligator clip is nice and firm, hanging on tight without slipping. It's a small thing, but it matters when you are recording audio. The recording quality through the mic was (to my ear) indistinguishable from audio recorded through the device's normal audio. For my use, this is a good thing. This is good because it means that no additional audio editing is going to be needed to make it sound consistent to when the mic was not used (in other words, the recording through the mic matches the recording via the phone). Again, for what this would likely be used for, this is a positive thing. This means that a lot more angles with the camera become available, since you don't have to worry about if the audio is being consistently recorded or not. It does come with a 3.5 aux OUT jack, so you can have analog audio out while the mic is plugged in. This is a nice touch and allows you to monitor your own voiceover while recording, or allow a “cameraman” to be holding the phone and monitor the audio being recorded--although the 5' cable to the mic is of course somewhat limiting, but still a nice feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't able to use this mic with my iPhone it seems like there is a cord that may have been missing or isn't included for it to actually turn on. The directions that came with it weren't exactly much help which is a shame since the mic would have been extremely beneficial for me for work purposes and the majority of my video making is done via my iPhone.
