MOOG K8738 Ball Joint

this appear to be well made and extremely heavy duty. they are advertised to be of the type that must be installed in a specific direction so as to allow full back and forth movement. in the photos of the item it clearly shows the two tags that explain these directions in detail and stress the importance of installing them exactly that way. well, I looked all over for these tags they were not to be found in my item's packaging. I also examined the u-joints under a strong light with a magnifying glass and did not find any notch or other marking indicating the direction they should be mounted in. then I went to the installation page for moog.com and entered k8738. the instructions came up immediately and included photos of the tags and the admonishment that they must be installed in a particular way. very frustrated I went to Google trying to find out why the u-joints did not have any markings on them and did not include any instructions about directionality. Google enlighten me stating that Moog had very quietly rolled out a new version of these u-joints that let you install them in any direction you want. there is no longer any need to mount them clocked any particular way. wouldn't it have been nice if there was a little note in the package explaining this to the installer and eliminate all this confusion and frustration. this is why I waited this product only three stars.
