MOOG SSD94 Steering Damper Kit Fits select: 1999-2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 1995-2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE

Beware: This is not like old MOOG products. Made in Mexico. and is not marked as a MOOG product. Seems to be fairly well made but not well engineered. Stabilizer mounting hole in bracket A is not in the right place and the unit rubs the stock steering arm when mounted. There is NO reason the mounting hole could not be 1/4 inch further down, or even centered in the bracket where everything would clear. Instead, it is near the top of the bracket and causes the stabilizer to be too close and rub the steering arm when steering. I had to add washers between the bracket and the frame to lower it sufficiently to clear the steering arm. Also, the stabilizer is not quite long enough to allow full steering range. It stops just before the stock steering stops in both directions. There is absolutely no reason the stabilizer shock couldn't have been made slightly longer to allow full steering range. With much modification needed, I did manage to get it installed and it does seem to work OK although my turning circle is not quite the same as stock due to the stabilizer limitation. Bottom line is I will never buy another MOOG product. They have cut too many corners in the engineering and manufacture of their products.
