Review for Spicy Black Bean burgers. I love them. Tasty, easy cook, and nice amount of fiber. I've been buying them for several years. I fix them in the toaster oven and have heated them in a skillet with onions, carrots, etc. I used to serve them over pasta with sauteed vegetables. And they are lower in sodium than the other M. S. veggy burgers.
I am a vegetarian and I enjoy eating this brand. I got it on sale so the price was alright. I just wouldn't buy it if it was not on sale because it can get expensive and that says a lot because I don't eat meat or fish and this is one of my main sources of protein.
I prepare in Air Fryer, 5 minutes on each side. Just the right amount of heat, not too spicy. Either plain, or topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, avocado, cheese. Whatever you enjoy on a burger. Low fat, high protein, great alternative to ground beef burger. Highly recommend. Often use toasted bun or roll, satisfying meal.
I don't usually care for black beans, but in this case, I'll make an exception. I hardly ever buy just plain veggi burgers any more. These are very flavorful and are more filling. Besides I need to eat more non-meat protein. I use the microwave and follow the instructions, but the texture isn't the same as as I think it should be. It doesn't seem firm enough and often breaks apart on the way from the cooking tray to the bun. Maybe I need to cook it a little more but we have a powerful oven and I don't want to burn it. I tested it with cooking thermometer and it was in the 170's each time I checked. I still will be buying them, because they are so good and economical too!
I'm not a vegetarian I had never tried veggie burgers before, but my daughter wanted me to give them a try and they are soo delicious! Nice and spicy and no weird fake meat flavors or textures or anything. I eat them as is or on a bun, I've even crumbled it up for a recipe. I have bought many packs of them over the years and never been disappointed!!(:
This is so good. I replaced all my burger nights with this delicious patty!! It's definitely a big leap in taste if your used to regular beef patty. But it's so worth it. I love the black beans in the patty. And not to mention lots of protein! You should give it a shot, it's so good with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. I highly recommend this!!!! So yummy! So good. I will be a forever fan and customer!
If you like spicy, these are for you! Not only are they delicious but they don't leave you with a heavy feeling like a meat burger would. They're easy to prepare and oh so healthy!
Black bean veggie burgers sure doesn't sound appealing. I decided to try a 'healthy' burger for a change. First off, it is not like a beef burger. You would never mistake one for the other. But, that aside, I found this burger to be a bit dry but tasty. I didn't mind the texture. The price is a little high. It's not one I would buy every trip but I would get it when it's on sale.
I cooked it in the air fryer and put it on a toasted bun with Colby, Jack cheese, Dijon, mustard, and hamburger dill chips. It was very, very good. I do wish that they were a little thicker and didn't fall apart so easily.
As a vegetarian this was my go-to veggie burger for years. So when I went full vegan I was shocked to learn these contain milk and eggs. Why??? Bummer. Now I'm on the search for a vegan alternative that is a true veggie/bean burger (and not one of those fake meats).
