I break up one "puck" into a gallon of water and let it sit and "Tea" for one week. Then I pour into my plants that I think have fruit like flys, bugs. The pucks don't harm my plants! I have been using these for years and tell anyone who will listen about them if they have bug troubles. The tea doesnt smell good but it doesnt make the room smell or anything when you water your plants. Perfect for any ponds, sitting water as well. Break up the puck and put a piece in the sitting water. You WILL notice it working! Hidden Gem for sure. Not many people have heard about these Mosquito Dunks. I am and will continue to be a repeating customer! Walmart is the second place I have found them. Home Depot also sells them but I believe Walmart is cheaper.
These work great in my pond. I also have a couple containers ponds that I use them in. In the past I have used them in tires and other areas that collected water.
I used these years ago when I had a pond and now that I have a fountain, I like using them because it doesn't bother the i used these years ago when I had a pond and now that I have a fountain, I like them because it doesn't hurt the fish and the birds
I have used these Mosquito Dunks in my small garden pond and fountain which house goldfish and pond Lillies for many, many years. They are easy to use. Just open the blister pack and float one disk on the water surface. Usually last over one month per application even in the Texas summer heat. If applied before the mosquito breeding season; they work to eliminate larvae from developing into adult mosquitoes. Does not harm fish, plants, or amphibians. Be sure to immediately wash your hands after handling the disks. Keep away from children and pets.
There is a small puddle outside my apartment made up of air conditioner condensation. I've been here for 3 years and the puddle had never gone away. After 2 years of dealing with non stop mosquito bites when outside. the next year, I began to see a few more than an odd one here and there. Regretfully, I left my door open to enjoy a beautiful day, and my apartment managed to attract literally hundreds of them. I had to do something and u landed in these. SAFE FOR PETS AND WILDLIFE, EFFECTIVE AND CHEAP. I broke a ring into 4 and tossed a piece into the tiny puddle. A week or two later I noted a dramatic decline of the evil things and now they are hardly a nuisance at all, so long as I pop another piece in the puddle every few weeks
I've used these probably about the last three years that With a bird baths and they do work and I've even taken and put some on not into the mix of dirt. I've just taken it and sprinkled it around my plants so if there is any excess water in the reservoir of the plants, they don't go down there later X.
Effective as part of strategy to control fungus gnats in house plant soil. Break/smash them up and use like mosquito bits. Best to let them sit in the water several hours (over night or even a day or two) to completely saturate before watering plants.
I purchased this product for those blood sucking vampires (mosquitoes 🦟) I will drop one of these cakes where I find standing water outside. They breed in the water. They hide under old leaves that have not been raked up. Wherever I see them I put a cake nearby. Once the larvae and babies hatch they eat on these cakes and die. I am not a big fan of death but these are monsters whom carry so many diseases and they are not curable. I noticed after a good rain where the water sits. I fill those areas with dirt. Buy, you won't be disappointed. By the way they are attracted to certain colors, you can Google which ones. They are not fans of (O) positive blood. Anyone with that blood type, have no fear they will not come near
We live in a rural area that has a ravine behind the house. The ravine is usually dry but after a snowy winter or a rainy spring, the ravine can run with water. The mosquitoes love to breed in this ravine. We were getting eaten up alive when the eggs (larvae) hatched. We tried these mosquito dunks out of desperation. You just throw them into standing water, they dissolve and I guess they kill the larvae. After doing this, we noticed a decrease in mosquitos on our deck. We also have a man-made waterfall that runs for 1 hour a day. I'd get rid of it if I could (former owner put it in). We threw one of these dunks into the standing water at the bottom of the waterfall (after the motor stops) and this seems to have minimized the number of mosquito bites we get. I would recommend these dunks. They're not perfect, but they do help.
