The Motortrend Heavy Duty Cargo Mat appears to have a good thickness to it. The mat has large texture on it to keep your belongings from sliding around in the back of your vehicle. It will fit a multitude of vehicles because they were thoughtful enough to put lines into the texture so you can cut it to fit any vehicle. When I pulled it out of the box I did notice a "chemical" smell but it disappeared quickly.

I am really impressed with this Motor Trend cargo mat. It is truly a really heavy duty mat. I was expecting a thinner mat and one that would not be as well fitting. I have chosen (for now) not to trim this mat to make it a perfect fit for my SUV but to rather leave the slight edges for any spillage that may occur. I (like many other women) use my SUV like a truck. Haul anything and everything that can possibly fit. That is why for now I have chosen to not trim it to its perfect fit. This is definitely a great inexpensive way to save the back of my SUV.

I had been wanting to get a trunk liner for quite a while, so when the opportunity came up to try out the Motor Trend Flex Tough Cargo Trunk Floor Mat Liner, I was really excited. It arrived rolled up in a box and all I had to do to install it was unroll it and set it in the back of my car. The mat is designed so that it should fit most cargo areas of most vehicles and to customize the fit you just have to use scissors to cut it down appropriately. As you can see from my photos, the fit is nearly perfect for my 2010 Nissan Murano and I don't think I will have to cut it down. The mat is heavy duty, though lighter and more flexible than I expected it to be. This was really nice because it helps it form-fit to the cargo area and makes it much easier to get into place. There are little nubs on the backside that poke down into the carpet to help keep it from shifting. The mat has grooves that allow dirt and water to sit inside them which in turn keeps stuff off your carpet. This is going to be wonderful this spring during mud season when I take my dog hiking! The mat has a slight chemical odor to it which I expected. It is not strong and I only smelled it when I took it out of the package. After being in my car for a few days it is hardly noticeable unless I get very close to it and breathe in. So far it works great and I am extremely happy with the quality and function. The fact that it is so light and flexible means that it'll be easy to take out and hose off when it needs a good cleaning in a month or so. I would highly recommend this cargo liner.

The Motor Trend FlexTough Cargo Trunk Floor Mat Liner has a premium design and is made of quality material. I'm using this trunk liner in my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. I just placed it down in the trunk area. It didn't need any cutting. If you have a smaller vehicle, simply use a pair of scissors along the exterior lines to trim the mat to fit your cars floor dimensions. This trunk floor mat liner is an all weather protection liner. It will protect your trunk through snow and rain. I think that's a plus! It has strategically placed grips for safety and comfort. Therefore, I don't worry about my items in the trunk bouncing around or breaking up. I also love the fact that it's easy to clean. Removal of any messes are made easy thanks to configuration of the grooves. I would recommend the Motor Trend FlexTough Cargo Trunk Floor Mat Liner.

The mat was thick and had substance to it - wasn't a cheap knock off and was easy to trim with a decent pr of household scissors for a tight form-fit; i made the right choice for my VW suv and would buy again - and i saved dollars.

cheap, description said it would fit my compass, didn't even come close to fitting. I will be returning it.
