This is my SECOND scooter. Easy to put together, easy to ride!! This second one is sportier!! Would highly recommend this sweet ride
If you purchase this scooter as I did, I recommend you buy it on Walmart. The overly cheap ones on Facebook are scam's. I also recommend that you go to Youtube and do a search for the scooter, you should see a video done by "Clarks Place" where they assemble one, it will make your assembly go smoother and its not complicated.
I love my mototec fat boy scooter, I was reaching insane speeds of 30 mph and I rode it for 12 miles while still maintaining full battery. Highly recommend this scooter for those who want a smooth around town, or even for golfing, fits golf clubs perfectly. Comes easy to assemble as well!
I have to give credit when credit is due. This can't be beat for the price it's true it only has battery display and I don't want to make anyone think wrongly about this. It is still a very reliable and we'll built scooter. Only thing I can say to dislike this scooter is nothing. However the brakes well you have to get used to adjusting them. They built this scooter for people to be able to afford it. So that being said keep up the awesome work Mototec. It runs as good as good can get.
The only negative about this scooter, is the instructions. Very vague, pictures are black and white, looks like they were taken from a Polaroid. The main parts are black so its really hard to tell where things are supposed to go. Other than that, it is an absolute BLAST to ride! Very highly recommend it! Brakes do need a little adjustment and I recommend spraying WD40 on both brake assemblies.
Love It. So Much Fun! Had a few issues, brakes needed adjusted, they squeaked really loudly. Make sure you fully charge the battery before you ride it, unless you want to push it home. The battery light indicator shows as full out of the box.. It's Not! I learned that the hard way but once it was fully charged I've taken it 11 miles round trip, up and down hills, grass, dirt, gravel, side walk and road, and battery still had 75% left. I have no review of it's speed capability since I haven't tried pushing it full throttle, my top speed so far is only 17mph at a 3/4 twist of the throttle. Model is some what different from the picture, ignition is now built into the new head light and charging port is on the outer bottom side of the foot board. It has a horn but it sounds like the ones that come on mobility scooters, wasn't impressed so I'll be ordering a new one. It's a lot of fun and definitely worth the money!
The scooter came in fast delivery wise, set up wasn't so bad seeing most of it was assembled. It is fairly fast for being electric. I wish the battery indicator showed voltage rather than a dummy light. It isn't accurate enough to know exactly how much juice you have left. I have gotten a lot of looks and compliments on it. A couple friends thought not being able to ride in the rain was bogus but they don't understand the concept of the electrical and motor being in the wheel. Anyone wishing to purchase one I suggest going through Walmart or another reputable store. I have only rode it a few times being the amount of rain we have had but will give more reviews as time goes by!
I was super excited to get this because I just wanted to commute 3 miles (6 miles in total) with it and at the same time be a little bit more eco friendly in the city. It arrived almost fully assembled and it was really easy to put together. Once it was ready to go and ready to be charged is when I realized the charger didnt even work. All of it was for nothing so I had to figure out to get this really BIG and HEAVY bike back so I could get a refund. In the end I got it done but it was a lot of time and effort only to get some of my money back.
don't buy MotoTec no warranty if it doesn't work new out of the box you have to fix it yourself. we got our grandson a fat boy for Christmas and it would not charge they told me that was my responsibility
