Moultrie Pradco Outdoors MMA-14206 3.4W Solar Power Pack II

I run both the Moultrie 3. 4-watt and 10-watt solar panels. From my experience, the 10-watt panels perform best in the woods, where limited sunlight means they need to capture as much light as possible. The 3. 4-watt panels work perfectly as long as they're placed in well-lit areas with consistent sun. I use those in open green fields and pastures, and the batteries consistently stay at 100%. They have been deployed for 4 months no issues.

Have had this solar charger on a Moultrie camera in Central Texas for a year and it has worked flawlessly. No need for internal batteries, this is a one time plug it in, make sure its pointed South with no shade during the day and you never have to worry about your camera running out of power.

Doesn't work well on my Edge 3. I Fully charged panel before bringing out to my camera and after 3 days of being plugged in the panel is dead even with full sunlight for atleast one of those days. The weather has been around 15 degrees and when using batteries the cam would last way longer than with the solar panel. Love the camera but disappointed in the solar pack.

I bought 4 of these, plus a solar panel for my feeder (that is a different solar panel; I'm on my 3rd solar panel for the feeder). I recommend not buying these solar panels. I've returned 2 and Moultrie has replaced 1 (as a courtesy; there's no warranty). First, when working, I cannot rely on them. At some point, all of them lose ground to the battery drain. My cameras are only 15 minutes away. I visit them to rotate batteries or fix panels on a nearly weekly basis. If I get to them before they die, I can swap the battery. Second, it would seem that the solar panel charges an onboard battery. That battery powers your camera. This works until the solar panel's onboard battery dies. That has happened to all of my solar panels. That is 7 in total (bought 4; returned 2 for replacements; Moultrie replaced 1). If the onboard battery dies, your solar panel is dead. It will no longer power your camera. The panel may be fine, but without that onboard battery, nothing works. I've got 2 panels in that condition now. If I contact support, they may replace them, but only as a courtesy. Again, there's no warranty. At some point, support may not extend that courtesy. Finally, the whole system is flawed. I have 3 types of Moultrie cameras (3, 3 Pro, and 4; 6 in total), rechargeable batteries in all, and 4 solar panels (now 2). I bought 2 extra battery packs to use to rotate when batteries die, which just happened (100% to dead in 1 day). In other words, there is a lot of money and time invested in this. I will say again for those that get this far: do not waste your money or your time on this. When the cameras work, they are great. But, "when they work" is the key. I've had 2 cameras down for a week. If I could take everything back for a refund, sadly, I would do it.

How can you sell a solar panel/pack and NOT provide the proper USB-C cable to use with the camera?? So dumb. I had to use a phone charger cable in order to make it work. Unreal, so disappointing, not wonder the reviews are so low on this. We'll see if the solar actually charges the power pack.

I bought 2 edge 3 with the solar power and 2 rechargeable batteries less than 2 months ago. I want buy anymore Moultrie products again. I get about 2-1/2 weeks and they die on me. I have another brand with a solar charger and it has been over 2 years since i have had to change a battery.

I paired this with the power mag 2 and it does not work. I charged both fully before putting them out in the field. The solar charger does not charge the battery and 3 days later all I can do is sit and watch the battery drain down again and wait for it to stop responding. Not happy at all since it's a 2. 5 hour drive back out to try to fix it. Not impressed at all!!

I went all in with Moultrie this year with 4 cameras, 4 power packs and this Solar Pack to try on my Edge 3 Pro. The soar panel charged up fully with the cable at home. put it into the field with the Edge 3 Pro. First, let me warn you that you can not match the Solar Pack I with the Edge 3. It comes with a USB C to cable jack cord and will not plug into these cameras. You have to buy the Solar Pack II. The only difference I can tell is the cable. Why they don't include the USB-C to USB C cable as well, I have no idea. They wouldn't even send me one, even though they sell them separately. I had to send the Solar Pack I back and buy the Solar Pack II. Then I had to buy the Power Pack power cell to match the Solar Pack II. The only difference I can see in the two Power Packs is there is a hard ring on the bottom of the Power Pack II for aid in removing the Pack which does not help because you have to remove it in order to plug in the USB C cord because it is in the way. When I finally set it up it appears the port does not fully seat in the camera because it has a screw in peg that helps hold the cable to the camera (and solar panel). They should have made the male USB C end longer so it will seat. I should have gotten a reading on the solar panel on the app but it did not appear. I left it for 2 weeks and could not see if it was charging or not. I noticed the Power Pack was loosing power (after just 2 weeks!) The camera was on the recommended settings and was not taking very many pictures so. . . ? When I went back to check the set up the Solar Pack was dead. No charge. This wet up was in a field with good sun for at least 6 hours of direct sun per day. I took it home and placed it out in the sun all day, adjusting the panel almost every hour to ensure it was directly facing the sun. It only charged up 1 out of 4 lights. Speaking with Moultrie Support, they kept telling me to repeat the troubleshooting I had already done. NO HELP. Don't waste your money on the Solar Packs from Moultrie. They don't work and they only deflect your issues to something your not doing right. Anything not to have to replace or refund your money. Also, the Power Packs are no good. They do not hold a charge but a few weeks and then they start going downhill quick. Just put in the Energizer (Blue) lithium AA's and call it a day. They will last a long time. I have one Moultrie Edge 3 camera with these AA's and it has been out since September and still 100%. It takes tons of pictures and is set to report in every 12 hours. Disappointed in these accessories and Moultrie Support.

I bought this in attempt to skip the rechargeable battery packs and wish I would have just bought those. They don't last long, cannot be charged with a power bank, and are not even lithium. I just put it back out after pulling it to recharge and it died over night. It was below zero but lithiums would have been fine. Skip this product and spend the money on a battery pack.

Got 2 of the 3. 4W for Christmas. Have had to charge them multiple times to keep them working. Shocker they are dead again and need to be charged in the house. Both panels are getting 2-3 hours direct sunlight. Glad I went ahead and put batteries in my camera as well. Will be going to get these today or tomorrow and will not be putting them back out.
