Are my eyes deceiving me? Ha ha, when I first opened this product it looked EXACTLY like its frozen cousin. It tasted better too, The ice cream part and the chocolate cookie part tasted the same too. So fun to crunch in your mouth and for me it held right together as I are it. Fun to eat. I just had to follow it with a regular frozen one and then the next time I crunched up the freeze dried one and put it on top of a big scoop of vanilla ice cream! Guilty pleasures!
These are amazing. I wish there were more flavors (Neopolitan!) because I dont like mint. These vanilla ones are sooo good and way cheaper than any other freeze dried treats I've found!
This is dehydrated/freeze dried ice cream. For what it is, it is great. It can break in the package because all freeze dried products are brittle, but that just makes for more finger snacks for you. In the past, these were sold as "astronaut ice cream" because they were given to Apollo astronauts (they rejected it though). These days, astronauts actually get the real stuff. Don't buy this expecting it'll taste like a normal ice cream bar.
It taste just like the ice cream minus it being cold . It was crunchy but really good . I love that the chocolate DIDNOT stick to the fingers like the cold ice cream but the quality of this was really good and my toddlers loved it as well . I bought them March 23,2023 and the expiration was January 2026 so for emergency food shelf life food I can say this is a yes for a snack !!!!
It was definitely different. My mom 2 kids also my neice an 3 children her dad an grandma absolutely loved them. Being freeze dried you dont have to worry about a sticky mess plus dont have to worry about melted puddles being everywhere.. only a few crumbs here an there. Definitely fresh tasting. I would definitely recommend, especially for the experience. You'd think they would be nasty but honesty they are delicious. will be purchasing again.. 10/10
I've purchased several of these for my emergency stash. I have children and if ever we were to experience an emergency situation where running to Walmart isn't an option, it would be a nice treat to offer my little ones. When I buy these ice cream sandwiches I must hide them until I store them with my other emergency foods otherwise my kids will eat them up. They taste like an ice cream sandwich but crunchy!
Well it tasted ok. It was like eating the middle of a malted milk ball is the only way I can describe it. It is very crisp so hopefully u have teeth or it will take u a while to eat. Its pricey but I just had to find out what it was like. No I won't be buying it again.
NOT A GOOD VALUE. I GET IT,IT'S FREEZE DRIED, SHELF STABLE ICE CREAM BUT THE AMOUT YOU GET FOR THE PRICE IS NOT REALLY WORTH IT. I REMEMBER BUYING THIS AS A KID IN CAPE CANAVERAL AND IT NOT BEING SUCH A BAD VALUE. THE ICE CREAM WAS OKAY. MY ADVICE LOOK ON AMAZON OR OTHER RETAILERS FOR THIS. I'M ALMOST POSITIVE YOU CAN GET A BETTER DEAL.
I thought this looked cool and I wanted to try it because I like ice cream sandwiches. I'm not sure how people eat this stuff. It was like chewing chalk I couldn't even swallow it. To each their own.
If I hadn't had any thing sweet in many months this might be a treat. It did not taste anything like a real ice cream sandwich. It was super sweet and a little on the chalky side. It became a little creamy after it melted more in your mouth but never enough to convince you that it was anything close to ice cream. I didn't hate it. But I sure didn't love it. I could see kids liking it more than I did.
