Excellent quality product, economical, heats my 984 sq. ft. home efficiently. This is the second unit that I have purchased %26 if this one ever wears out I will purchase again. Very comfortable warm natural gas heat. I did not purchase the fan %26 I haven't needed it.
I have sporadic power outages and have been looking for an affordable and easy way to heat my house when necessary. I also have the 20K BTU upstairs. My house is 700sq feet and my area can get below 0 F*.
Bought this heater for a large basement room that was only heated by an electric heater. Mr. Heater does a fantastic job heating the room and I noticed my furnace, that heats the upstairs, doesn’t turn on as often. I like that it can be temporarily set on the floor so I can use it to heat my garage if doing work in there and once winter is over I can simply put it in storage.
I've been using propane wall heaters since I was a child, and this one works just as I had expected/hoped. It has a thermostat, which is definitely an upgrade from when I was a kid, but pretty standard fair anymore. The only 'assembly' is if you're wall mounting or floor mounting it, you have to either attach it to the wall or attach the feet, respectively. I use the feet, so it took less than 5 minutes. There was a reviewer I came across that doesn't understand what the instructions mean by regulator, so let me clear that up. These are generally designed for home use. If you have a home propane tank, it has a regulator to bring the pressure down to around 11" of water column. All appliances require this. The heater itself has it's own, internal, regulator to keep it even lower, but still requires the one on the tank to work safely. If you are using this with a portable tank, more than likely your hose has a regulator, as any grill or other appliance you normally use them for requires. You would simply use the one attached to that hose. It's a very simple to use device, overall, so you shouldn't have much issue. If you have a particularly long hose or line that was previously empty, be warned you will likely need to hold down the pilot light gas fill for much longer than 30 seconds to completely fill the line. Don't freak out, this is entirely normal. The actual pilot igniter requires a AAA battery, so you'll need that to get going (unless you have a lighter, of course). Depending on your situation, you will have to get a connector to hook up to the stove-if you're using in house, you probably already have the fitting ready. The heater has a 3/8 NPT female port that you will need to hook up to. Keep that in mind to purchase with your hose. Overall, great little stove! Don't forget, for best results, make sure you run your fans on low.
Mr Heater has good ratings and is a popular brand. The price was one of the best offered from a store I trust and which is within a ********* if I have to return an item. Customer service has always been good at Walmart.
I did a lot of looking and checking, both with similar products and prices. Mr. Heater was my choice and Walmart had it available and shipping was included with the price. I’m very happy with my purchase and with Walmart.
I purchased this unit based on reviews I had read from others. What they didn't say was that it puts out more heat than expected. I put this in an off-grid cabin. Man, was I surprised at the amount of heat. If it didn't have the automatic temperature setting, it would get too hot. If you are looking for a great heat source, take time to figure just how much heat you think you would need and purchase one smaller! LOL. Seriously, it's a fantastic heater!
A decent heating alternative, but plan on spending an additional $100 minimum for hose, pressure reducing valve, other various brass fittings before this unit can ever be used. Unless you are very adept with prepping gas appliances, plan on paying someone that is. If you can find anyone local. Your best bet is to purchase similar unit from local hardware supply that can quote you a turn-key job that will be ready to hookup to portable tank. Good Luck otherwise.
If i spend $375 for a heater, it should come with everything you need. You need a shutoff valve and a pressure regulator, and there's an optional to buy from Mr. Heater. I started my return. i need a heater that is plug and play. I'm
I have yet to be able to use the heater due to a piece that I need to connect the propane tank hose to the heater. It would be a HUGE blessing if y'all would include it. I have yet to find one to be able to use it at all this winter. It's too much money for it not to be able to be used after purchase 😪
