It ran me to death, however if you have two people it is better. One person feeding bags while the other person is dealing with the mixed product. It did everything I needed it to do. my first pour was 126 60lb bags took a little over 3.5 hours. It beats lifting the bags up to a traditional cement mixer.
Excellent piece of equipment, we pour a lot of concrete, and this reduces our labor time by at least half. I definitely would recommend anybody who does very much concrete work to buy one of these Mud Mixers.
Design is great, performance sometimes it gets stuck in the middle of mixing . We are forced to stop and remove the concrete from the shut by hand . This is not a defect of the machine it's just that some concrete bags comes with huge pieces and the machine is not capable of to shred it . Easy to use. Is not good for big jobs . Unfortunately. I will recommend it for small pad , side walk or small patio but not for something bigger.
The wife and I are working hard on making are dream come true with opening an RV Resort/Park. We are not loaded so anything we can do ourselves we do. Used our new Mud Mixer for the first time about a week ago and mixed two pallets in about 2 hours and could have done it faster with a little more. Our Mud Mixer is a game changer for us. Looking forward to many more projects in the near future.
I'm superpissed these guys didn't come up with this mixer 20 years ago. Small pours are done easily now, without consideration. Easy to use, so much quicker, cleaner. . . Every general contractor, large or small, needs to own one. If you don't believe me, you haven't used a Mudmixer yet. I can't thank these people enough.
I was able to pour 77 60-lb bags of Quikrete and cleaned the Evolution all by myself in 2 hours and 10 minutes. There is and never will be another DIY tool that will be better than the Evolution. I highly recommend this to any and all DIY'ers out there. Go out and get one ASAP!!!
Easy to transport, move around site and operate by 1 person. Clean up is easy and painless. Unloads quickly but at a slow enough rate to push pile around and do a little edging and detailing before you need to go load more bags in. With hopper extension will hold 5 60# bags to get started. Only downside is water constantly flows when machine is on, so when you get to the end you have to watch the mix and pull the machine back from the forms before the hopper empties otherwise you dump a bunch of extra water into your finished pour.
Love this thing. . . great features. Couldn't give it five stars because it constantly jams up. . have to run REALLY wet mud, but other than that this has allowed us to save on man power and time for small pours that don't justify a truck or where a truck can't fit.
Absolutely wonderful machine for small concrete projects. I did a 420 80 lb bags of sack crete driveway, about half way thru the job, dry powder start falling out the back side. If the machine had some type of vibration mechanism on the hopper to feed the dry mix, too much hands on to get dry mix into feeder.
It's a great concept but it struggled to perform. Perhaps I need to learn more about it. It needs to be level, the shoot gets clogged frequently if it's pointed uphill. Even when downhill it still clogs at times. When it clogs, the water doesn't shut off so you have to run and shut off the water while it tries to unclog itself or you have to reverse it to unclog. If you don't get to shutting off the water immediately when it starts to struggle it turns to soup. Then once you clear it a soupy mix comes out and waters everything down. I tried the water ratio at the recommended start point of 25%-35%. Perhaps it only works well if I crank up the water to a thin mix.
