This is by far the best sugar free root beet I've tried! I've been on keto for the past few months to lose weight and this soda helps immensely with my sweet tooth. I always try to grab a few more boxes when they come in stock as they sell out very fast in my area. Would recommend if you enjoy regular mug root beer but want a healthier alternative.
Mug root beer zero sugar is a game changer. It is by far and away the best zero sugar root beer on the market. My sons go through 72 mug root beer zero sugars a week because they are real mug blooded American boys. Long live Mug root beer!
Most diet soft drinks have some degree of nasty artifical sweetener aftertaste but notthis brand. Ive had better root beer but that would be putting this up against a small batch brewed, sugar sweetened artisanal root beer costing 4 or 5 times as much. Never had a diet root beer, even the expensive "brewery house" brands that came close.
My Dad became a diabetic when he turned forty. He liked root beer and chocolate candy. We searched for diet root beer that tasted right, chocolate candy that still tasted like regular chocolate. We found Zero Mug Root Beer that tasted as good and almost better than regular root beer--and Russell Stovers Sugar Free chocolate tasted exactly the same as sugared chocolates. Because of my father, I learned to find sugar-free or zero sugar and low sugar items that everyone likes. Mostly because anyone can choose these treats and not have to worry about too much sugar in their diets. This was helping my Dad, but it helped me too!
Diet root bear has become my secret occasional treat some early evenings lately to avoid the far worse munchies I usually succumb to when I just need a little something sweet to finish my day on a satisfied note. Chilled in fridge so ice doesn't water it down.
I love root beer but am diabetic so I must have only no sugar sodas. Alot of diet sodas have that weird aftertaste but this zero sugar Mug Root beer is fantastic! so smooth and creamy with excellent taste and no weird aftertaste. It pours with a nice creamy head. I love drinking it in a nice frosty mug, it reminds me of my childhood. It also makes delicious root beer floats. I use no sugar added vanilla ice cream and it's is spot on! Be aware though this soda will give you serious burps! lol.
Years ago I dined with a friend in New Orleans where he introduced me to Diet Barq's Root Beer which he said was the best diet soda in the world. It was regional at the time but since then was bought by Coca Cola. It was my favorite diet soda for years. However, a year ago I tried Diet Mug Root Beer and was blown away by how smooth and rich the taste was even compared to Diet Barq. I really could taste the difference. Apparently, it was a small regional company bought in the 80's bought by Pepsico but it wasn't until recently that I found it on grocery store shelves. I have to say it is now my hands down favorite.
This is OUTSTANDING stuff!! It's a little thicker and richer than A and W thus making it a substantially BETTER zero sugar root beer in my opinion. It may not sell as well as A and W but I prefer its syrupy taste compared to the water-like taste of A and W in my opinion. It's great for root beer floats too!! Thank you Mug and Walmart!!
Mug root beer missing from my order
It taste like if Pepto-Bismol and seltzer water had a distant cousin this would be it. In all seriousness, it tastes like seltzer water was used to water down Pepto-Bismol (that pink chalky stomach medication) yeah it's gross zero out of 10 you could not pay me to drink this ever again.
