I bought these for my mom. She has swollen legs due to a heart condition. She wears about a size 9. She's also a very tiny, petite woman. We've tried other compression socks. There's holes in the bottom, weird seams that don't need to be where they are, can't machine wash, or just don't breathe. These socks fix all of that! If you have normal legs without foot swelling, I think they can be a bit big in the foot. The cotton that these socks are made of is so much better in the skin.
Usually, on most any compression sock the band is too tight, and usually the material is rough on skin - but these wide width Muk Luks are very nice and stretchy, non-binding, plus soft on skin. The more I build muscle, and sometimes legs swell, I do actually have to stretch the band on these using a wooden clamp from Harbour Freight (Pittsburgh hand screw clamp-12" and be sure to PINCH the very tight band while on the vice!) -just widen it with socks over it, ie use it the opposite way). If they crease your ankles you can use the vice for that as well. I do love these Muk Luk socks! They also come in some nice colors. Kuddos for making a better compression sock! Kuddos to Walmart for selling these!
Some of us seek quality and affordable compression stockings because we absolutely Must wear them, per doctors' orders! MukLuk produces this very reasonably priced product that meets my needs and often they're cute, too! Usually in the $20 price range for a pair, MukLuk's stockings launder well and seem to last for a long time. When I order them I personally make sure that it is a pair marked/noted for wider calves. I wear them because I've suffered blood clots in each leg (separate events) following international flights when I wasn't using compression stockings and before I began using anticoagulation medication (Eliquis 5 mg, twice daily). Those two steps have saved my life and that of countless others. Now Mukluks is a brand name that sounds kind of funny, but what they can do with their Compression Sox/stockings is deadly serious stuff. Even if you have never been officially diagnosed with having blood clots in one or both legs following a long flight, but say, your leg(s) afterwards hurt tremendously and may have been swollen, as well, definitely contact your medical professional and add a note to your shopping list: “buy some Mukluk Compression Stockings” and carry aspirin (not tylenol) which helps thin the blood and take it prior to your next flight because you just might be helping save your own life! Of course, check your situation out with your own medical professional assuming you're fortunate enough to have one serving in that capacity.
I I think these are excellent for compression. I love that they are cotton. I did order the wide calf and the only problem I have is the band at the top itself is a little too tight for my liking. The rest of the sock is great but the band is extra firm. I have a lot of swelling so that’s an issue for me -the average person probably wouldn’t have a problem. I would definitely buy these again for the sole reason that they are cotton and a high-quality product.
They are very long and slender almost to the point of discomfort. They are almost too tight of a compression sock. The feet fit great but the calves I were too tight. If you don’t mind the extreme pressure up around the top of the calf at the bottom of the knee these are the ones for you. If you do, I would look into another product.
So these are supposed to be wide but they are not. They do seem nice and soft and good quality just way too narrow on the calf. The second pair was less narrow but still very narrow! I would only recommend for slim legged people
i don't have large calfs so i first bought the regulars. they were so tight my feet were swollen so I bought the wide calf. they are still very tight and caused slight swelling. the material is wonderful but they are just too tight and hard to get on or off
This was honestly disappointing bc I feel like Mukluks is a decent brand. The fabric is comfy. Doesn't feel like plastic which is nice. The compression is not graduated very well. There's almost none from the toes to the mid calf, and then it's just impossibly tight. There is zero compression in the foot at all. The arch support is minimal. I got the wide based on the size recommendations, and these socks were so tight even around my ankle…which just a regular sized ankle, let alone the widest part of my calf. The foot size recommendations are so far off, the heel went like a third of the way up my calf. I'm not a short person and I wear an 8.5 shoe, so not sure what was going on there. Overall really disappointed in these socks.
I know that these are “compression” socks but…omg! I have size 9 feet and small legs and calves but I cannot get these barely on! They fit my feet fine but even with the instructions on putting them on they are way too tight! They are cute, but maybe for small kids? lol!
these socks are only good for if you won't be standing on your feet, this is the bottoms of them after working ONE 8hr shift , very very disappointing, the lettering didn't even make it , I really liked the way they looked and felt :(
