The color is actually work on these candles so it's just a little fun thing to add to a birthday cake. definitely recommend

The colors are bright and added a nice flare to the birthday cake. They do work best with lower light. They were just what my daughter was hoping for.

Light early for best results
Light the candles about 45 seconds before you want to see color. It takes a little bit for the color to show up. We finished singing happy birthday and they finally burned with the colors.

Waxy colors and not much flame in daylight
The color of these candles was sort of waxy like cheap crayons, and you can't see the flame hardly at all unless it's dark. The packaging does say that you can't see the colored flame in the daylight. I didn't realize that meant you wouldn't be able to tell for sure if the candle was lit! The colored flame part is a cool idea but these are definitely something one would choose to use in the dark and only for that purpose.

Very disappointed could not see any colors in the flames and they melt very fast. Would not recommend.

Don't
So it doesn't matter if you put the candle in the holders on the cake . The candles melt everywhere and it's a fiery mess . Just don't buy it . It did look cool for 10 seconds though
