Mungyo Soft Pastel Multicolor Square Chalk Set 64 Count

I use these for my art classes and have been wonderful. They go onto the paper really smoothly and vibrantly. I only wish these were bigger since I'm using them too often and they get small fast, haha.

Wonderful beginner kit if you are just getting started with soft pastels. They are well pigmented and have good coverage. Includes a wide range of colors to try out, making the kit suitable for any style. I recommend buying some pastel paper as well to fully appreciate this medium.

I have mixed feelings toward these pastels. They should be labeled very soft pastels. When using fixatif to set the drawing the pigments would blow write off the paper. Even with strathmore pastel paper and pastel primer, they did not want to stay. I had to do several layers and eventually the pastels became muddled. They are good pastels and the colors are vibrant, but not what I needed or what I prefer to work with.

These are just tiny chalk sticks. Great for kids but not a serious artist. I'll be returning them.
