Murphy's Really Works

Texas TK September 4, 2025

We live in Dallas and start every evening with a routine that includes lighting 2 incense sticks that last the entire evening mosquito window. The sticks really work so I'm ordering more to make sure I have plenty for the end of this season and the start of next year's!

On my 2nd batch

JJ Bugginz July 12, 2025

Gnats have been terrible nuisance this year. This incense really does the trick. It's very pleasant smelling too. My husband does not like many scented products but doesn't mind this product. I just ordered my second batch in a larger 24-count package. Incense holder is also heavy and attractive, effective at catching all the ashes. Love all Murphy's products. Who needs DEET and synthetics?

Use sand pots with incense to create bug barrier

Heidi G April 21, 2026

Been using these for 3 years - I put them in small “honey pot” filled with sand to insure the grandkids can bump them over, and place them around my patio to create a bug barrier. Works great.

I was skeptical at first...

Ilya August 3, 2025

I was skeptical at first when my friend recommended the repellent incense. I have tried so many products, none of which did any good. To my surprise, this one works!!!!! And I like the aroma which is a plus!

Giant Sticks, Burn Well, Seem to Help

Carlotta September 2, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay I really liked the discontinued incense cones, this is the first time I have used the sticks. For starters they are *huge* -- really tall and quite thick, and they won't work in a standard incense stick holder. Since I haven't yet ordered their holder for them, I had to jerry-rig something (a jar filled with shells...) to hold one up. On the up-side, they burn well, they aren't too smokey, the scent is pleasant and not overwhelming and they seem to help. On the downside, the ash spilled out all over the place and there was quite a bit of it. I put a plate under the improvised holder the second time I used one, and that caught some of the ash but not all -- so hoping their actual container catches more of the ash! Otherwise a good product and helpful.

Effective for me but not my Husband

Theresia August 18, 2025

I enjoyed the smell of these burning incense sticks. The mosquitos stayed away from me. We burned it under my 12x10 covered gazebo. My Husband was still actively being bit - maybe it was reduced but he was definitely bit several times while we were burning the incense. My husband was sitting right next to it.

Wish they hadn't changed!

ZENITH24 July 28, 2025

We had a container where the insense were green and they were magical. They worked so well that I HAD to buy more the second we lit our last one. I was really confused when the new ones were not green in color but I was sure I had bought the right brand. The new sticks are less effective. So much so I thought I had bought the wrong brand until doing my research and finding out Murphy's did in fact change the color. I don't know why but the new ones just don't work 👎

Fire hazard but woks.

Lfer September 24, 2025

Although this product did work, I put it in a large clay pot w a rose bush and chocolate mint plants. The next day I noticed that rose bush on the ground burnt at the bottoms, and the mint seared and burnt. The roots of each plant were reduced to ashes and coals and pot and dirt were still hot. I would not recomend this product with out the holder at all and o do believe it should have a warning label.

Does not work

Bushwick Boy4 July 31, 2025

Simply don't work. I live in Bushwick, NYC and have a small backyard. Mosquitos where I'm at are viscous and whenever I put on bug repellent cream or spray, they will chew me through any clothes I'm wearing. Was hopefully to use this incense stick. Doesn't do anything, even after leaving a few burning for a few minutes to spread the smoke. Don't buy this if you have a genuine mosquito filled environment. I'm typing this with 10 mosquito bites on my arm after moving a few plants and burning an incense.

Something has Changed with Incense Sticks

Renee August 25, 2025

I have been purchasing your incense sticks for years. The green sticks are amazing - I still have a few left. This review is for your "same formula" brown ones I recently purchased as I am getting low. They will not stay lit. Yesterday I lit a green one and brown ones side by side. The green one burned away. The brown one went out.
