My Life as Doll Collectible Bakery

This was the perfect gift for our granddaughter's 10th birthday! She loves baking shows and dabbling in baking, and the fact that this bakery would work with both her American Girl/My Life AND Barbies made it an easy decision. The bakery is so cute! Even though it's not too big, the layout allows much to fit into the area. Our conscientious, gracious granddaughter began assembling the bakery even before all her guests had left the party! I normally wouldn't have spent this much on one gift, but sometimes it just has to be done :) I'm just thankful I 'happened' to see it! (I tried to upload a photo, but I kept getting an 'error' message)

Brought hoping it would work for the Barbie 1:6 scale 12” dolls as well. Since the Harry Potter Herbology classroom did for both the 1:6 scale Harry Potter Dolls and makes for a great Barbie Florist or plant hot house with all the mini verse plants. The Herbology is the best quality and construction I have seen in a playset and the screaming plants are a hoot! Super value especially on sale! Hard to find solid built toys these days and both the Bakery and the Herbology qualify.

Actual American Girl brand items are insanely expensive. I love the price point of this and the price point is much better. Love that it folds up and doesn't take up a ton of space too.

I absolutely love this bakery! The style, the colors, the accessories... are all very nice. One of my favorite parts is that there are window panes, not just open spaces. Something about the clear plastic being inserted just sells the realistic aspect better than window and door spaces you can stick your fingers through. Up till now, my bakery only consisted of a covered Our Generation bakery cart and a display table. Although I had everything set up in such a cute way, having this building will actually elevate and help complete the look of my bakery. Plus, I have big bakery expansions in mind beyond this playset. The fact that it closes up for storage and traveling is a terrific bonus. Many accessories that I already owned are fitting very well with this set in size and color, so I'm off to a great start! With that being said, there are a few things that I wish were done differently, but they don't take away from how much I love this set. I wish that the yellow cabinet was movable for greater floorplan versatility. The bottom of the display case is gray. Why? I would have preferred it to be a color that was already used in the design. It was no surprise that the lighting is very weak in brightness. That seems to be a given with toy makers even though there are much better options. Not only that, but the offset position of the lighting pigeonholes the setup as well. I would have preferred a centered light fixture or a balancing out of 2 identical ceiling fixtures where the 2nd would be closer to the left side window. So, I will certainly add additional lighting to remedy both lighting issues. The kickstand on the sign should lock in place so it stays put. I may be replacing it with an actual wood/chalkboard sign anyway because I want longer business hours. I must ask why on Earth they folded the cardstock flooring in quarters? It will never lay anywhere close to flat, so what's the point? I feel they could have left it flat, covered it in plastic, then stowed it between the building and the rear panel of the packaging. I'll just do my own thing when it comes to the flooring. Lastly, I feel like the flowers in the flower box were too short to make an impact, so I replaced them with taller options in soft pink and yellow to better match the decor, and added leaves to give more fullness. Nothing that I mentioned should deter anyone from buying this fantastic set. I design interiors, so my way of thinking may be different or nitpickier than most. Overall, it's a wonderful set at a fair price. I'm thrilled to have received it for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and to have added it to my ever-growing collection of 18" doll playsets and accessories.

Beautiful set! This is a gift that I feel will be adored! It's what my granddaughter has been asking for her birthday.

Oh my goodness; this is so adorable! Quality material and the CUTEST details! So impressed with this toy line, as always.

Love the outside, the playability and the quality of this set. It folds up in a nice compact way. My only complaint is the inner furniture is kind of cheap quality plastic and the floor is folded cardboard. I also wish it came with a few more accessories such as a pastry bag, rolling pin, flower and sugar etc. compared to the Hardy Potter sets it does not feel like you get as much.

Hinges to open are stiff and don't open all the way. Plastic furniture pieces very light and cheaply made. Food items excellent. Overpriced for what is included. Floor extension folded cardboard badly warped had to throw away since it doesn't lay flat. No locking mechanism when closed up to insure it doesn't open when carrying closed case.

The unit hinges are poor quality. on the unit i received i am hearing a popping sound when i fold the unit back up, it's difficult to get to unit aligned to close it due to the poor quality of the hinges. Would someone please tell me if that is the way it is made or due i need to return it. I have the harry potter train and do not have ths problem. In my opinion the train is made well.
