It's my first arcade stick, I chose for the Nacon daija because of looks, quality and sanwa parts. After a few weeks of playing I like how sturdy it is, it can handle a 'beating'. I won't be going back to a pad anymore since I've gotten used to a stick now. Don't give up, stick with it ;).
Absolutely incredible. Premium feeling, easy customization. Satisfying through and through, from the high quality sanwa parts to even the *click* of the cable door. Definitely worth the asking price, even moreso when considering this product goes on sale.
I was looking to buy joystick with Sanwa parts and somehow I found this joystick in Google search. I wanted to buy something compatible with PC and PlayStation, and the Daija is fully natively compatible with Playstation without the need to plug gamepad, which is great benefit I think. After updating to the latest firmware I'm super happy with the responsiveness and the zero lag. I will highly recommend upgrading the spring of the stock Sanwa JLF to 2lbs spring, because the stock 1lbs is too soft. As per gates if you like playing fighting games, I will highly recommend the QanBa octagonal or round gates, which makes the special moves an easy task. The genuine Sanwa octagonal gate is not as good as the QanBa, because you can't feel well the edges. It's an amazing arcade/fighting stick and we love playing now old school MAME games, Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter 4. Thank you Nacon for the great product! As downsides I can only say: 1. The buttons on the side are not comfortable reach. Placing them on top is better for ergonomics and also prevents random unwanted button press. 2. The top lid doesn't close easily. The locking mechanism needs improving. 3. The terminal disconnection from the buttons is not specified in the manual how it needs to be performed properly. The terminals are equipped with locking springs and if you're not familiar you can damage the terminals if you try to pull without pressing the spring. 4. The Sanwa button terminals are gold plated, but the wiring loom terminals are tin plated I believe. This is not good material compatability. Needs to be gold/gold. 5. The software update instruction needs to be more clear and easy to understand.
Great fighting stick, well build, very comfortable and easy to mod. I manage to buy it on EVO week with good sale promotion, highly recommend.
Get it while you can. It's up there with MadCatz TE2, Razer Panthera, and Qanba Obsidian. If you're interested in painting it here's my process: mask using masking tape (I had Revell brand lying around), prepare the surface with a scouring pad (I used the back side of a kitchen sponge), clean up all the sanding dust with a moist towel, coat with a primer, then the color of your choice, then varnish (I used glossy). Be patient, use many thin coats, let it properly dry, and watch out for overspray. I used Montan Gold cans - low pressure, NC-Acrylic lacquer base.
Excellent stick for the price. My go to stick. Is everything you could want!
The best arcade stick I've ever had. Much better than my old Panthera Evo.
Works great! No issues at all. Nice weight + size.
Everything is good, but the location of the r3 and l3 buttons is disappointing. It would have been better if it was a bit outside of the body. The only thing I regret is that.
I have to say, this stick has a nice feel, weight and was delivered overnight from France to Northern Ireland, hence still giving 2 stars. The reason for only 2 stars? Incredibly poor quality control at manufacturing or worse, attempting to pass off refurbished products as new. My unit arrived boxed and looking new, but as soon as I unboxed it I noticed massive scratching to the front of the unit, a clear attempt to remove something... residue from a bundled sticker placed by a former owner perhaps? There are also hairline scratches on the buttons and what is possibly fingerprint residue on the touchpad. They are not indicative of a new product. Incredibly disappointing for what is supposed to be a premium arcade stick.
