What Size of Base Are You Supposed To Get?

S March 19, 2026

The fact that there's no base included is made perfectly clear. But it doesn't say what kind or size of base to get. After browsing around, we decided it was best to wait until the umbrella arrived, so we'd have actual measurements. To help you, too, the pole is 2”. The x-feet depend on where you're measuring, as seen in our picture. The basics are about: Full length end to end 39 1/2”. Pole to one end 18 1/2”. Ground ledge for weight 17 3/4”. Leg height 1 5/8”. Leg width 3 1/4”. Once we pick a base, we'll set up the umbrella permanently. Today, we set it up with a couple bricks just to check out the overall product. And yes, you need something right away. Closed, it stands on its own okay. Open, it requires weight. It will not stand freely while open, unlike what's seen in the product images. So while we wait for the base to arrive, how's the umbrella? We've never had a patio umbrella before, so we don't know what the quality could or should be. We're just going to tell you what this one is. Out of the box, it was easy enough to assemble: build the stand, connect the umbrella's poles, and then slide the whole thing into the stand. The only hiccup was a plastic piece that fell off one pole by where they slide together. We couldn't see a way to put that back on without crossing the cord running through the poles. The poles fit together fine without it, so we don't know what that part is for. Handling the whole umbrella piece is a bit awkward because of the swinging, but grab a good armload and it's not too heavy. Assembled, with weight as noted, it's ready to crank open. As newbies, we had to study it to find the handles it spoke of, but we figured out what to pull and what the latch was for. It's a tight crank to open it; closing is an easy crank. Open, it's impressively large and brings extra shade to the yard. We were surprised that the hanging umbrella swings. That's fine, we just thought these things were solid. The fabric is thinner than we expected. It's better than a nylon beach umbrella, but we thought that it would be thicker canvas. Maybe it's standard fabric? The construction is single-stitch and the ribs are in little pockets. The pole is steel with plastic joints. The navy blue color is pretty, but we forgot it would be warm under a dark color. Our bad. Also, the tie down strap closes loosely. We tied it firmer. We may add a piece of loop tape further up the strap for a tighter hold. Or we'll get bungees to more securely hold it to the main pole. Just standing there as it is, it still looks like it may sway in a heavy wind. There is no cover included. The regular price point suggests that it's a budget brand. On sale it's a steal for a cantilever umbrella. As our first umbrella, we like it. It operates as it should and gives shade we've never had. The added task of taking care of it in the weather is something we'll have to learn, but we hope it will last a while. (Sorry if the formatting doesn't recognize our paragraphs.)

Good Umbrella!

Irina April 1, 2026

It's a good, solid shade. Easy to set it up, i put cinderblocks to hold the umbrella down for the meantime, but it's definitely a gold buy for its price! the handle works great and easily compacts for the windy days. Has great shading and love how easy to maneuver it

Great umbrella!

Jeffrey March 19, 2026

The beige color is a lovely neutral that will coordinate with any outdoor colors you might have going on with your house / garden. At 10', it creates a lot of shade for my family to sit under. It's nice to be able to be outside but not have to worry about sunburn, and to stay cooler.

Made in the Shade!

Melody March 20, 2026

Exactly as pictured. Will be a beautiful addition to lake time this summer. Being able to position it in several ways is a definitely PLUS! Nice material. Plenty of shade. It is a bit on the heavy side so having two people to help with assembly would be advised.

Easy to open and close

Tapeka March 19, 2026

The NAPWANT 10ft Patio Cantilever Umbrella is a great addition to my outdoor space. The offset design provides plenty of shade without a center pole getting in the way, making it perfect for my patio area. I love how easy the crank system is to use—it opens and closes smoothly with minimal effort. The canopy feels sturdy and provides good coverage from the sun. Overall, it's stylish, functional, and a solid value for creating a comfortable outdoor setup.

a nice addition to my backyard

zombiemom March 20, 2026

A breeze to set up and then you have shade. This color blends with any decor and the crank is helpful to move and adjust as you like. Don't forget the weighted base and weights for the umbrella to prevent it from taking flight. Overwise, I'm enjoying it next to our picnic table outside.

for starters I had to find a washer the little bag with the string tied to it that had the hardware in it had a hole in it. wasn't in the box either. the stand is cheaply made, won't stay upright unless secured. the feet will rust quick because it is thin. you can't open the umbrella all the way because the material starts to tear at the seems. the mechanism glides with no problem, just feel like the canopy is to small.

Great, but damaged in shipping.

Corey June 26, 2026

Great product so far, easy to put together, however it was damaged in the box when I received due to shipping damage and has a bent piece of the umbrella. You will also need to get a weight to hold down the base, other wise you will have to screw it into whatever you are placing it on.

It's a great idea and covers the back porch nicely. I love that the feet and pole are out of the way, and that you can adjust things quickly. The only thing is that with umbrellas, nothing new, but the wind catches them. So why make them without this in mind. I'm Missouri is windy, so I can't use it if it's windy out, as it's trying to hold on for dear life. A vent or some modern idea to help with this, would make this great. I fear this will twist and break quicker than I'd like it too, because of this. I am thinking to cut slits in it and overlapping a fabric on top but only secured on one side so it will be water proof but will allow air to pass through some.

No assembly! …..

Kenneth June 4, 2026

I received my umbrella on 6-1-26. I paid for assembly yet no one has come to do it? I rated half way since I haven't seen the umbrella and no assembly?
