I've always been a foundation + colour pigmented powder girl for the extra coverage and was a little horrified when the NARS assistant suggested this instead of the coloured loose powder. I'm absolutely converted, teamed with the all day luminous foundation this lasts all day with incredible medium-full coverage that looks natural and not cakey. Keeps the shine at bay and lasts all day, even into the night. On one occasion the counter was out of stock so I tried the Laura Mercier version as that is raved about... But It just didn't do it like the NARS and needed touching up in the day.
I've been on the hunt for a brightening yet non-shimmery, finely milled, crease-proof & colourless setting powder for YEARS. And this is it! I've tried countless setting/finishing powders from drugstore to luxury but this is my absolute favourite & repurchase. It sets the face BEAUTIFULLY & leaves a brightened, blurred finish without being cakey. This also pretty much keeps my makeup on the entire day without my oils breaking through. this is an extremely high quality product & I cannot recommend it enough! Please don't discontinue it NARS/Shiseido :)
I've used my first tub last year and it lasted for a year with me. I used it every single day and it is indeed brilliant! I have the oiliest skin ever and with this product my skin just looked radiant and really fresh. I tried another setting powder when the last bit of NARS conked out on me a few months back however it doesn't give the best results as NARS hence I'm here and ordering on my 2nd tub as we speak! I'm a NARS addict.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very oily skin, so with the NARS foundation it works well (both the foundation and powder are really good quality). It's really REALLY reflective. So stay away from flash photography when it's used. It's light and works well but can look slightly caked if used with a heavy hand.
I saw a few bad reviews on this powder but I thought I would try it anyway as I have been looking for a good setting powder for ages I'm so glad I bought it! Although it is quite pricey it's well worth the money as you only need the smallest amount so it will last you for ages. It makes your skin look flawless and silky, pores and fine lines dissapear. If you apply it over your entire face it can look slightly "white cast" however I apply it only over the top of my concealer which I apply under my eyes, middle of forehead, chin and down the centre of my nose and this sets it perfectly lasts all day does not settle into lines/creases and gives a beautiful lightening/brightening affect. Works great with the nars creamy concealer, I blend it in with a damp beauty blender and then apply the powder with a real techniques setting brush and I always get compliments on my skin & makeup. Highly recommend this product!!
Bought it after hearing so many good reviews and it didn't let me down! Love the powder but the packaging is dreadful! I travel a lot and now half of the powder is out sitting on top waiting to explode everywhere everytime I open it!! So frustrating!!! It's a lot a waiste and mess.... Cannot believe that a brand like Nars didn't come up with a better packaging like the one from bare minerals!!
I was very sceptical about purchasing this due to the high price tag and mixed reviews. I bought it to use alongside my nars sheer glow foundation. This was my first time ever using a loose powder, and I'm not keen on this. It doesn't seem to work well with my acne prone and often dry skin type. I intend on wearing foundation for about 8-10 hours this goes patchy and dry within a couple of hours, and is absolutely not wearable for a long period of time I have tried powders from the drug store that are better than this and much cheaper. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with it I just can't seem to get it work well on my skin although it is good at making pores less visible.
it has really bad flash back.. I used it to bake under my eyes and then took a picture it looked like i had put white paint on my face.. if your wanting to wear it every day where you not exposed to a camera and flash it would be fine as it doesn't crease and does have a silky smooth finish. But I would not recommend it to anyone that would be exposed to photography which is such a shame as I have wanted this powder for a while.
I wouldn't recommend this product, I wore this at my sisters wedding and it looked good on but when I recently received my sisters wedding album and film all you can see are blotches on my face and around my eyes so I wouldn't recommend that this product is suitable for being filmed or professional photographs as it looks pretty awful.
Brought this a month ago, Thinking it sounded brilliant and light reflecting and therefore flattering. It leaves a white cast like you have used baby powder especially with flash and under your eyes when setting concealer. Wouldn't recommend for any use.
